NFL 2019

Wow that's pretty early no? I always wondered why Kuekly or w/e his spelling name is, never got d player of year.

Pretty sure he lead all tackles on Panthers since forever. Monster linebacker that always caused problems

Lol just briefly looked at 2 articles bout kuechly, and they are all calling him best linebacker EVER, not for his team but da league......

So why no d player of year? I think he was overshadowed by d ends Watt and now Mack and Donald

Defensive POTY in 2013...

7× Pro Bowl (2013–2019)
5× First-team All-Pro (2013–2015, 2017, 2018)
2× Second-team All-Pro (2016, 2019)
Art Rooney Award (2017)
3× Butkus Award (pro) (2014, 2015, 2017)
NFL Defensive Player of the Year (2013)
2× NFL Tackles leader (2012, 2014)
NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year (2012)
PFWA All-Rookie Team (2012)

Kinda reminds me of Patrick Willis's retirement... :dunno

didnt willis have injuries turf toe he was battling or something his last 2-3 seasons? then same thing he knew he couldnt perform the way he wanted to anymore so he retired - they all need to go ask sherman wtf he eats for breakfast or go on the brady diet

Willis retired from turf toe that never got better. His feet failed him, he literally couldn't run anymore.

Keuchly was almost as good as Willis. Probably 1a and 1b, along with Bowman too.

Playing in smaller market Carolina hurt his exposure, which is why he's not talked about as an all time great.

Can't fault the guy for getting out before his brain gets even more scrambled.

That is fucking stupid. Defensive Player of the Year? If you want to be the best Linebacker evr, you better get MOST VALUABLE PLAYER.

They aren't any conversations worth having about who the best was.

Luke Kuechly sacks: 12.5 Forced Fumbles : 7

This man single handedly changed teh SPort of Professional Football.

Lawrence Taylor Sacks : 132.5 Forced Fumbles : 56

In the 1980's he was all I wanted to be.

Kinda reminds me of Patrick Willis's retirement... :dunno

2/3 of the earth is covered by water. :teeth

Hey did you know LT and Luke are the only 2 players ever to win DROY and DPOY in consecutive seasons.

:rolleyes

I didn't. Kuchly was certainly pretty good. Demarcus Ware and Julius Peppers were better though and they still are not the King.

^ Think Bosa has a shot?

No question he has a shot. If he stays healthy, he totally could and that would make him the first DE to pull it off.

Things would have to go right for Bosa to get DPOY I think. Dee Ford staying healthy is one of them.

Yeah, for sure, but he has a shot. One of the things necessary for a great player to shine is to play on a great Team. Most people won't remember J.J. Watt in 15 years, because he never really played on very good Defenses. When he was young, he was a one man Army like crazy, but Houston never really built the soldiers to hold him up, by the time they drafted Clowney, Watt's body was already wrecked.

Bosa is part of a brutal young Defense and could ride that talent in to History as it remains brutal for years to come under Lynch.

gotta side with Eldritch this time

there's LT, then everyone else. Belichick agrees.

Unmatched thus far. I don't know if Bosa could ever be the wrecking crew that LT was.

I think that new rules about protecting QBs have basically taken the reason out the ferocity of his style. It will never happen quite like that again.

TBH, I think JJ Watt was closer in terms of impact on games, but like Eldo said, no rings, not a chance to be that.

Speaking of which, I CAN'T be the only person completely offended by the pundits and hosts using "LT" on LaDanien Tomlinson. Talk about a needless callow insult.

You are not.

Thanks for not saying, Okay Boomer.

Oh yeah, and PS. Real LT was SO durable. Bosa has already been hurt a bunch.

LT was tough like Frank Gore is tough. Earl Campbell, too.

There aren't that many guys like that.

I think players are encouraged to keep themselves more safe today than in past. It ain't just "rub a lil' dirt on it and walk it off" anymore.

LT was still a man among boys even in the NFL. Unquestionably.

got a kittle jersey finally for my cousin for xmas,

9ers definitely have the cheapest damn jersey design, 1 single 49ers - silk screen logo on chest and thats it, where like the ravens get full on patches of their raven shield/logo on both arms........

kinda lame-o for same pricing structure and lame ass design

JJ Watt also burned out after 5 years, his body didn't last. Maybe he could have had a longer run if he didn't carry the whole team on his back every year, but you never know.

If you watch LT's highlights though, he wasn't that brutal a tackler. He wasn't one of these guys stuffing dudes head into the ground, body slamming guys, like Dick Butkis, he tackled you like he wanted to hurt you. Hew anted to see your organs come out of your jersey.

LT would just come in, make the play and roll off. An O-Line player may or may not get dragged down while being ignored as part of the process. :laughing

whaaaaaaaaat BUtKUS would take the ball away from his defender shake it in front of the ref and then ref would call it in his favor

whaaaaaaaat times have def changed
