NFL 2021

That's the thing about these people, they throw a lot of shit against the wall and some of it will stick. People don't remember the shit that didn't pan out, they marvel at the things that did. So, the law of averages says that you're going to be right once in awhile, just keep cranking it out. :laughing

Yea. Still waiting for Mel Kiper to retire after he said he would if Jimmy Claussen wasn't a star.

Yeah, I mean this whole "Brady to return home to the Niners after retirement," shit is so far out, no one can believe that. It must be just trying to throw out some sensationalist nonsense to generate click revenue.

Like, the Niners do have a top notch O-Line and complimentary Defense, Deebo and Kittle are great weapons, but Tampa owns his rights still and the Niners would have to be nuts to spend picks on a 45 year old QB.

I guess maybe there is a path if they wait until AFTER Tampa drafts a QB in the first round so they just release Brady?

I think nonsense though.

It's going to be a loooong off-season. And these guys want something to talk about. I agree that its ridiculous, or, even if he were to do something that unexpected, who effin cares in the meantime? In some weird way, a lot of em are probably trying to make up for whatever stupidity they uttered during the season regarding Grap and Lance. I certainly heard a lot of it. Life just wouldn't be the same without this constant chatter about that position on this particular team. The only thing notable is that they can keep kickin it around about Aaron Rodgers as well...Poor ol QAnon Aaron, his girlfriend dumped him....

But, if it does happen, this guy will be given credit for calling it. It's like winning the lotto, they look like geniuses all of a sudden for a random drawing. All of the other 100k people who put $50 for every drawing for years on end and never win are ignored. :laughing

I just shake my head in disgust when I see some advertisement that starts with 'From the guy who told people to buy google (or some other company that went big) early on....', the vast majority of these calls were just a shot in the dark, but if one of them panned out the luck person will milk that lucky shot for the rest of their lives.....and people will fall for that shit. The way I look at it is that the odds of them getting lucky a second time is even smaller than the first time, so the vast majority of them are a terrible bet.

wtf going on in the offseason, last i heard Kyle murray agent sent some gram or tweet to Arizona front office in all caps.

The funny thing is everyone is raging over the all caps and arent reading into wtf is actually happening, Murray wants to take less $ for 22-23 season to resign old teammates

Literally pulling a Brady

Murray is still on his rookie deal, he can't take less because his contract is already set.

he wants a long term extension instead of playing out this season plus the 5th year option and probably 1 franchise tag.

i dunno what his contract entails, you maybe correct however the agents all caps message in like the 2nd/3rd paragraph reads this:

LOWERS HIS 2022-23 SALARY CAP NUMBER TO ALLOW THE CARDINALS TO RE-SIGN OTHER DESERVING TEAMMATES AND ADD ADDITIONAL FREE AGENTS

sounds like he wants to do exactly what Brady did, take less $ to help the salary cap situation so they can get others.

Yes. Here's the message if you want to read the whole thing.

The one sentence is BS. It's his agent playing the public. He cannot lower his cap hit this year, which is already absurdly low at 11M. His base salary is 960K and his signing bonus from when he was drafted is spread across all 4 years of his guaranteed deal, plus his 5M roster bonus. He is dirt cheap for Arizona this year.

Lowering his cap hit for NEXT season can only happen by him signing a long term extension instead of playing on the 5th year option, because the 5th year option is the average of the top paid dudes or whatever and his cap hit jumps to 23M.

It was a lot of words, capitals, and bad grammar for his agent to say "Pay Kyler a bunch of money"

every good qb gets an extension early. Carr got one after his 2nd year for crissakes. Murray is probably as good as Carr.

Pay the man

Frankly I think Kyler should get a record setting contract.

Forget the dollar amount. That keeps going up with cap increases.

Give him 40% of the salary cap. He's worth it, Zona. really. Do it. 10 year deal like Mahomes too.

Fuck that noise, milk every drop of blood out of him as cheap as you can, just like any other player. Dude might take a career devastating shoulder injury next year that he never bounces back from. The less you commit the team to an uncertain future, the better.

For what one playoff appearance where they got crushed and didn't show up? For winning a ton of games and then follow that with a ton of losses so that they barely squeak into the playoffs? I think his agent is overvaluing him right now and he needs a solid year of good play and not a barely made a wildcard spot to get paid. I know the NFC west is tough but they tanked the last half of the year.

Hey look, the guy is clearly a game changer on the field. The Cards have been a running joke since the bloody 1970's other than a brief run of good play after the Giants replaced the Ghost of Kurt Warner and he had a few good seasons for them like 15 years ago.

Since the kid has been playing for them they are different, they are competitive, and that matters.

I agree that the rookies must be held down with the chains of the rookie contract, but give the player some credit where it is due, you know? I will be shocked if the guy does not eventually sign a long term deal as the long term franchise QB in the desert.

I think you missed the sarcasm dripping from my post.

Giving one player 40% of the salary cap would literally cripple a franchise, even if it was just for one season.

Probably but he really should show something first before he starts demanding Mahomes/Allen level dough though AZ could get a ton of QBs that can barely get them into the wildcard round and they wouldn't demand that kind of money.

Yup missed it totally.
