NFL 2021

In all honesty if you're a back-up QB on the 9ers you get to take JimmyG's job each season. The FO is just rotating back-ups until they find one who can do the job permanently. :dunno

This might be one of the worst passes I have ever seen thrown.

Anytime anyone throws a pass that helps the Eagles it is the worst pass ever thrown. That includes when Eagles throw them.

$138mm/6yrs for TWilliams...damn that's a lot of money for 32yo tackle even if he has been a pro bowler for the past 8 years he's playd.

It's 55M guaranteed, and 30M is signing bonus to spread the cap hit over the duration of the contract.

it won't end up being remotely close to $138M. It's literally just so he can say he is the highest paid T in the league.

It's crazy that you would spend so much on an OT, you should try like the Giants have done and just install 2 of these.

I get that it may not be as bad for the team as it looks at first glance. Still, a soon to be 33 year old tackle gets $138mm/6yr contract. That's nuts. Oh, and you remember he missed two games last year due to injury? Maybe he should have gotten that as his first resign after rookie contract. But now? I dunno. Seems overpriced imo.

P.S. Even if he puts in three good years I'll be happy. Avoids the revolving door per Eldy's comment and he is a perennial pro-bowler. I'm just worried about durability and declining performance.

Williams is getting an average of $23.01 million per season. That amount surpasses the $23.00 million average Bakhtiari received from the Packers on a four-year extension signed in November.

Even more details are coming out.

It's actually a 3 year deal with another 3 year option that SF can exercise in April 2023.

So at minimum, it's 3 years and 60M. The 6th year has zero dead cap, so you can safely assume he will not play that 6th year at age 38 anyway. Also the 5th year only has 6M dead cap, so theoretically they can cut him after the 4th year having paid a total of 82M.

https://overthecap.com/player/trent-williams/1466/

It's basically another win-win deal. Williams gets paid, and SF still has payroll flexibility.

I figured it would be structured well. My concern remains in his ability to stay on the field. He's already answered questions about whether or not he's worth the money when he's performing.

Thanks for the link.

Are you sure you don't want some help? We have an 8 year long project surplus of overpriced free agents and 1st & 2nd Round Bust Picks we're offering at deep discounts.

So, Deshaun Watson....

Yeah, at first I was thinking this was just some ploy to drive his price down. Now it looks like he may not be playing for anyone in the near future.

We just signed another 35 year old at center. He's been relatively healthy his entire career. Hoping that remains the case for at least the next 2 years. Of course the FO did another bang up job on his contract so if he doesn't work out we can look for a replacement...but that revolving door thing is not good particularly on the OL.

See, your guys haven't figured out how to stay healthy yet if they are having that problem. The Giants O Line figured out about 8 years ago that the trick to staying healthy is to just stay out of the way of the Defense, those guys will hurt you, just look at what they keep doing to our QB, nobody else wants that, it looks like it hurts.

Ah so the Giants have five revolving doors on the OL? Now I get it. You need to keep it at about 3rd grade level to engage my comprehension, bro.

No, no, some of them are not revolving doors, they are Doormen, We give them the little hats and everything, it is very nice.
