NFL 2021

In a move that would have been great TEN YEARS AGO, the Titans are signing Adrian Peterson to fill in for Derrick Henry.

Well, they are having a problem that DH may be out for a while and they put their back up to DH on IR the week before, so AP as a place holder with the other two RB they have on the roster seems to make sense to fill the gap until they can get some dudes back on the field, doesn't it?

Peterson is almost 37 years old.... I'm sire it will all work out fine.

As for Miller, the trade seems like a smart move. Had Miller left in FA, they would have 1 fifth round pick. This way they got 2 picks in higher rounds.

Of course, they may need a GM. It goes without saying Fangio is done there...

LOL, they just lost the core of their whole football team in a matter of 2 weeks. They have 2 other RB on the roster, adding the corpse of one of the greatest RB ever to play the position at a cheap rate that fits in your cap can't be anything but a help. I am sure no one is expecting him to be an every down back.

I don't know about this Von Miller move for L.A. though. I think they overpaid for him. They gave up (2) 1st Rounders for Mattford and now the 2nd and 3rd round next year for Von Miller. The Rams are essentially not participating in the draft next year, and they have mortgaged their whole farm to go to the Superbowl in their 1st year in their shiny new ballpark in an effort to win it all in their home Stadium.

A noble quest indeed, but Arizona still looks like the #1 Team to beat in the NFL right now so they may have done all of this to have to slug it out in the Wildcard rounds.

Even if they pull it off, it seems to me they may be setting themselves up for long term failure with the short term gain in mind.

I thought Denver Jesus mad all the picks or is it Fangio's fault they haven't had a good draft in years?

Elway is no longer the GM, he stepped away from that position before the 2021 draft. George Patton is the GM.

From what I’ve heard LA didn’t pay a dime for Miller, Denver still paying his salary.

Edit, I didn’t read your whole post. I think Von Miller was worth at least that much. And LA will be back in the draft in 2 years. There good.

I mean, a 2nd and 3rd round pick? L.A. also agreed to pay $9m of his $9.7 this year, which isn't that big a deal since dude is a free agent next year so they aren't trapped. Except they just pad a 2nd and 3rd round pick for a 32 year old OLB that will be a free agent next year.

Dude was a legend, but his production last year was mediocre, his production this year has been similarly so, and he missed last weeks game against Washington with an ankle injury on the wrong side of 30.

It just smells kind of like desperation to me and remember, L.A. won't be all back in 2 years, they gave up first rounders in next year AND 2023 for the Stafford trade.

Denver is paying 9 million of that deal. https://nfltraderumors.co/breaking-rams-trading-for-broncos-olb-von-miller/

You sure are an NFC least fan…Miller’s production last year was mediocre :rofl
He didn’t play a single down last year because he was injured.

Also, “was” doesn’t describe his status as a legend, he is a legend.

I mean there is something to be said for the way the Lambs are operating.

if Miller helps them win an Owl, it's worth it. Plus, depending on how much he signs for next year, they'll get a comp pick back.

Thing is, draft picks are pretty overvalued. The failure rate on draft picks is INSANE. Trading for proven vets if you're able to make the salary cap work isn't a bad way to go. It's just unsustainable for more than a few years.

Shamelessly stolen from reddit. All the picks the Rams have traded since they moved to LA and started trying to win.

It's Derrick Henry and some dudes. There's not a single one of these trades I think I'd reverse.

Goff trade: (2016) 15- Corey Coleman WR, 43- Austin Johnson DT, 45- Derrick Henry RB, 76- Shon Coleman OT (2017) 5- Corey Davis WR, 100- Jonnu Smith

Brandin Cooks Trade: (2018) 23- Isaiah Wynn OT, 198- Khalil McKenzie DT

Sammy Watkins trade: (2018) 56- Duke Dawson CB

Marcus peters trade: (2018) 124- Armani Watts S (2019) 63- Juan Thornhill S

Dante Fowler Jr trade: (2019) Quincy Williams LB, (2020) 165- Collin Johnson WR

Jalen Ramsey trade: (2020) 20- K’lavon Chaisson DE, (2021) 25- Travis Etienne, 130- Robert Rochell CB (pick was traded back to the rams)

Stafford trade: (2021) 101- Ifeatu Melifonwu

I mean they are getting results for sure, that is a damn good football team, but still 2nd fiddle to the Cards for now. Truth be told, I think I believe in 2nd and 3rd Round picks more than 1st rounders. There is this whole need to make a splash that often goes nowhere with the 1st rounder.

I think more I don't believe in Von Miller's old ass to be a difference maker this season. I think he is a depth guy on the roster and for a 2nd and 3rd round pick, you can get 2 depth guys on the roster with cheap rookie contracts for 5 years.

Maybe he will prove me wrong though.

good effort by the Giants. It was a long shot to pull that W out, and they almost did it. Booker looked pretty good. Engram actually played decently and didn't screw much up like usual. They could really use Golladay back.

KC looks discombobulated offense, as every play just looks like they have no confidence that it'll work. But they have so much talent that they were able to push through. I get the feeling KC will figure it out sooner rather than later and challenge for the division.

Nice to see the Raiders back in to the 1st spot in the division by not playing. It was the first bye week in a while where I actually missed seeing them and their good performances.

However, I get the feeling the Giants are going off-script and will destroy the Raiders this coming weekend. LV has had a nice story the last few weeks afa on-field togetherness and success. The edge rushers Crosby and Ngakue have been getting a lot of press. It's too good of a story (on-field), and they will find a way to fuck it up. Plus, they've never played that well when traveling to the east coast. Everything is kind of set up for the Raiders to win, which is exactly when they typically like to shit on the faces of their fans with poor play. I see 44-13, unfortunately for the silver and black.

holy shit, Ruggs III involved in fatal car crash. no details yet.

update: fuck, it's his fault. getting charged with a DUI. Fucking idiot (alleged) murderer.

man in this day and age the NFL should have a class for all personnel called "Just fucking call an Uber/Lyft/Taxi for fucks sake". So sad that a totally avoidable incident happened.

You know I was working from home and getting the updates on the game online and I actually left and went down to a pizza bar to watch most the 2nd half (I don't have TV at home). These guys had me believing they might pull that shit off, but stupid penalties and poor execution right at the wrong time allowed them to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.

Not super surprised, but what was shocking to me was how straight BAD KC looked. The penalties and just generally discombobulated play at home is not what I am used to seeing from them going back to Alex Smith days.

I don't know about them beating Vegas though. The Raiders are playing good ball, that HRIII shit sounds pretty bad though.

If dude is found guilty, my understanding is that Vegas is kind of militant about injury DUI, because of the party culture that sustains their economy, so it isn't like back in Oakland where you can give the ADA a handy and be back on the road in a few months. If dude did the shit they are saying he might be straight Michael Vick'd.

Yeah, who knows, maybe he is on the DL and didn't want anyone to see him get picked up from Thunder from Down Under or some shit. It sure does sound bad though. Oh shit, sounds like he has been charged already. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/raiders-henry-ruggs-charged-dui-death-car-crash-police

That sounds like his career right there. That is a felony in NV with 2 to 20 attached. Best case will probably be 1 Year in prison with good behavior.

They do.

The NFLPA literally partnered with Uber for exactly that.
