NFL 2023

Yeah, and I am a bit worried about how Philly is flying under the radar on this. We need more press talking about how great they are so they can get in on their schedule to fall apart in the most upsetting fashion possible for all persons involved.

If no one is expecting anything form them, they will just keep winning to spite the sports betting community.

Exactly. I sincerely hope the sports media disrespects and ignores them all season. :laughing

This is as legit as it gets :laughing

Do WANT! I like the inside joke part the most...

They're making sandwiches OF the goose in the stores...

Huh. Never been in one, only driven by.

I do hope to see the 10-2 Niners face up against the 4-8 Eagles in week 12 though.

:teeth

Wawa's are amazing, IMO. 2am sando's that rule.

Sending positive vibes to the least coast giants. They get 3 games of my support this year. 5 if you count the games against the cowboys. :D

"They've been trying to build this offense for years and haven't been able to do it.". As people flood the stairs to leave with 11:20 left ..

Ouch, sorry ED lol.

Where does Purdy stand on amount paid per win. He's got to be competing with the lowest ever for a qb.

I'm thinking this as I think of all the qbs that got big money extensions. Seems like a bad investment this year.

the epitome of a flash in the pan team who got lucky last year, getting repeatedly exposed play after play after game after game. Their whole offense was completely destroyed by a rookie cornerback, Seattle really didn't even need to get all those sacks. The best their defense could do was try to hurt players out of bounds.

I feel better about the Raiders now.

Wasn't Brady @ $375K in his first SB win?

Well, standing by my 4 week guns, I have to say that this Giants team just isn't very good. It is almost inexplicably so. It is like the excellent play from last year never happened.

The O-Line we have been trying to build for literally over a decade still hasn't become anything better than the unit that drove Eli Manning into Early Retirement, but it isn't a total surprise.

Part of the problem there is you cannot piece an O-Line together liek assembling a machine. They need time to develop and grow together to gel as a unit, and part of the problem is we have made it our culture to constantly rotate in new players, free agents, draft picks, etc, so the line never gets to set. By the end of last season, the mediocre line we had put together was playing better than the one we have now, which includes a rookie at Center (a problem I saw coming). While this isn't entirely unanticipated, it is an impact worse than I expected and this Offense is just utterly lifeless, which quite frankly is just bizarre on paper.

The Defense is just harder to explain. Last year this team had a deep playoff run based on excellent Defensive play calling and the DC getting maximum performance out of his players, who were really playing over their heads all season and dragging our weak offensive efforts across the finish line to a narrow win time and again.

This year, on paper, the team seems only to have improved on D with most the starters returning and adding some important new players in the backfield, but the execution is just trash. All the missed tackles is just just a show of poor effort and a lack of discipline that is perplexing, despite the known issues of the coaches going soft on them in camp and pre-season to try and avoid injuries.

My expectation is that this Team will probably come together and start to perform like like years standard or better later this season, but too late to have it really be meaningful, but at this point, the fanbase is already in an uproar, so my only hope is that Ownership recognizes this team is only in the 2nd year of the new rebuild, and is patient enough to let the Team develop into an actual Team and not the disjointed group of assembled parts that they seem to be right now.

Gets back to the old adage about trusting the system and letting it work sort of thing. It is needed and right now this team doesn't seem to have it.

:x
Only two teams left at 4-0.

The Eagles haven't exactly mopped the field with anyone.

Close wins over the Pats, Vikings and Commanders, biggest win 25-11 over the Bucs.

They do play the Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills and SF starting in November though.

They lost both coordinators in the offseason and did some pretty significant reconstruction on the Defensive roster as well, so everyone expected them take a step back from last year, but as they are off to a hot start with a soft schedule early, it is possible they will be a lot more on plan and dangerous as the hard stretch you mentioned continues, as long as they stay healthy.

I think the OBJ boat trip cursed the Giants organization... I think he pissed in the Bermuda Triangle or something.... :laughing

Not sure it cursed OBJ, he got a ring since then even if his career tanked. :dunno

there's a good argument for naming CMC a strong league MVP candidate. Through 4 weeks, which doesn't mean much of course. The guy gets 6 yards in his sleep, and they haven't been gaping holes to run through for the most part.
