Ninja H2?

Turbo's has two things that makes them less desirable on a motorcycle (IMHO), compared to a compressor: Turbo lag, the time it takes for the exhaust gas to spin up compressor. And a very peaky performance curve.

Think ketchup-effect; where you exit a turn and roll on the gas, and then get a sudden extra 50+hp to the rear wheel - I would have a hard time controlling that.

All the hype aside (says I), it looks to me like Kawasaki are doing all the right things.

Gross generalization, tho I've already addressed this.

Depends on how the system is designed. :nerd

i am pre-cumming abt this bike a little bit.

i was too until they released info that it will be about 26000usd and very limited production run

i gotta face the facts, i prolly will never get to own one, see one, touch one or sit on one. ever

its up in the HP4, panigale R territory, and the italian stallion drops way more panties @ starbucks, then a japanese bike.

not to mention BMW stands for Bought My Wife

edit only 500 production run rumored

i hear you on the pussy factor, BUT imagine the stroking of your ego when you get to the track and shit all the fuck over the guys on bmws and ducatis with your retarded bright green forced induction kawi.

(assuming that this bike will handle and have brakes worth a damn, i figure it will get good electronics for sure because of the power numbers and most riders being mere mortals)

shit $26K is still way cheaper than even a corvette. I'm so in to finance this thing when it comes out

Well, the Facebook teaser on the Cycle World site sounds very cool, at least. This reminds me of the hype surrounding the Gold Wing Release in 74 (?), then the Z1-R release, a couple of years later. Yeah, I'm getting old. But the engine in the video has a pretty decent scream going on, and it's just winding higher and higher. Kawasaki knows how to hype it.

besides im more interested in the 2015 s1000rr, if bmw changed the ugly ass front end headlight and make it symmetrical i may have to take a closer look

the new r1 isnt exciting me, i had a xplane r1 - and unless they drastically change the ergos and the rider seat positioning where it doesnt feel like your piloting a gigantic whale, then maybe ill take a looksie

dunno taht 1299 ducati may just walk right past this supercharger, all while dropping all the panties its collected from the rear seats along the way

You'll see one at Alice's or the Rock Store within a month of release. ;)

we'll have to wait and see!

ducati is annoying because if you bought an 848 now you feel like a douche for not getting the 899 panigale

and if you got the 1098 or 1199, here they are with a 1299

what's the point of ever buying these things lol

.

Yes of course.
The car industry has clearly proven that commercially viable turbo engines can have the best of both worlds, but I think that given the design constraints in a mass produced motorcycle, that Kawasaki has made some smart choices with the gear driven charger.

I am certain that you know better than most mortals how tricky it is to balance all of the design parameters and keep these tuned for a blown motorcycle.

I would really have liked to see an electrical driven charger, since that is what I am working with and believe holds more promise than conventional designs. Time (and effort) will tell if I am smoking crack.

In the meantime, I still think this is one of the more interesting things that has happened in a while (or I am just a fool for their marketing).

:dunno

hopefully Kawasaki has the turbo system figured out better this time around...

rode the ninja750turbo when introduced and it was something left to be desired...lag and delayed reaction and temp issues...the boost gauge was a cool novelty on the tank..

if they're making a triple again, that should be a hoot...but mine was a 2 stroker..

No, I can tell you right now you're smoking crack. :laughing

Electric superchargers are an unnecessary complication.

This bike (like any other bike) will attract a lot more dong than poon.

Actually, what will be funny is the guy on the stock 600 passing the guy on the blown H2 on the outside. :laughing

Well that's it then, you sold me! :laughing

That sucks. A real rider would want to control boost pressure manually. No way in hell I would trust a computer to do something that I can obviously do much more effectively. Keep your damned rider aids, Kawasaki. :twofinger
