No Chris Rock / Will Smith thread? I'm disappointed in you guys

He's basically a meme now so I don't think that really helps his credibility either.

Yep. His quitting the Academy is merely a preemptive strike.
It's akin to quitting your job in leu of getting fired.

Quite possible that he was "invited" to leave, so he could save a little face as an alternative to being removed from the academy. Similar to a disgraced CEO of a prominent company.

She's pretty hot right now, just saying.

I disagree. This act just keeps the focus on him. It doesn't do anything for the people he hurt. he should focus on doing things to elevate and benefit them, and he should do them as quietly as he can manage.

Oops! I left off the /s from the end of my post.

A meaningless move though. All it means is he doesn’t get to receive advance copies of movies to screen at home instead of seeing them in a theater or waiting for them to hit streaming platforms like the rest of plebs. And he doesn’t get to vote on nominees or something like that.

But he’s married to another member, and for all we know some of the kids are members too.

He can still be invited to, nominated for, and attend the Oscars. So really…he didn’t give up anything.

I completely agree.
"Meaningless" is the perfect word here.

Maybe we should start a BARF money pool for how long it takes before the media stops talking about this.

Will it be because interest naturally fades, no further updates are reported from anyone involved, or some other celebrity does something stupid and shifts focus to them like the eye of Sauron?

Stupidity is momentary. The internet is forever.

Stupidity is momentary. The internet is forever.

"The internet is undefeated." is a quote that comes to mind.

But there's always something new to focus on eventually. :p

The latest news is that Chris and Will are planning to compete in person to finaly settle their imbroglio with a pay per view mano on mano, dressed in full Mexican mascaras, with the victor revealed only after the contest. Guaranteed 10 million dollars to the winner.

I'd pay to see that. Whose with me?

Competitive fighting depends on both mental and physical conditioning, as well as size/mass. For this speculative contest that you created, I'd give the slight edge to Mr. Rock, because Mr. Smith shows no mental conditioning (assuming this wasn't staged), and Mr. Rock's abs seems to be well defined, which doesn't mean much other than he is physically active, so may have decent physical conditioning.

Just the 1st one i saw, but it says CR is 5'10" 168lbs

So...not completely true, Not very true, and not truely true?

:laughing

I mean, a midget is a midget, I can't tell the difference between all these tiny ass dudes under 6' and 200lbs.

Below that bare minimum for a grown ass man, it is hard to identify the details all the way down there.

:)

This is America, if you aren't at least 300lbs, then you really don't matter, at least stastically speaking.

:laughing I cannot relate to those statistics.

People over 300 tend to be not people so much as some kind of furniture, with the exception of a few linemen. :laughing

Speculating about fights that are never going to happen is dumb, especially about people that aren't fighters. It's like debating which one of them would win if we gave them some fast bikes and put them on a track. But this whole situation Will got himself into with slapping Chris is dumb so I'll follow the shit show down the drain.

Chris Rock's conditioning keeps getting mentioned. You guys think Will Smith isn't in shape? A lot of Hollywood have personal trainers so they can stay in shape for upcoming roles, unless being fat and out of shape is their typical role. And even round guys like Kevin James have better conditioning them the average person. At least Will had boxing training so he can play Muhammed Ali.

Will is bigger than Chris. All things being 'equal', always bet on the bigger guy. Combat sports have weight classes for a reason.

If this happened in the 90s, they'd be on the next episode of Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV.

Rumor has it that at the next awards show there'll be gunfire when the Will Smith posse confronts the Chris Rock posse.

Several Hollywood investors are each trying to quickly gin up their own awards show which
will feature awards for both Will Smith and Chris Rock. Whichever investor wins it'll be a Pay-For-View show with on-line betting.

I'm really looking forward to it!

Waste of energy chasing Hollywood folly.

A real man would have straight up floored his ass and taken the jail time or waited for a back stage moment to discuss it.

Slap.... so 2022.
