Non-BBQ Food pRon

I'm getting excited. Broth is done, need to make the Tare seasoning sauce and I'm baking some baking powder now to make proper alkali noodles.

The pork is done sous viding and is chilling for easy slicing. Little nervous about Takoyaki.

Takoyaki was challenging. Once you get the batter inside the you need to tuck and roll the balls again and again until they're even.

:laughing

My daughter and I are going to make the "Time Sandwich" from Adventure Time this weekend because she saw it on Binging w/Babish...we will be substituting deli roast beef for the sous vide steak Babish put in his. We'd like to have a sandwich we can actually fit into our mouths. Definitely going with the deboned cornish hen as the bird from the window tho and the lobster souly-aoli :)

P.S. My shepherd's pie was delicious but the gravy was too loose and it came out like mashed potatoes with lamb stew instead of the nice pie type of presentation.

Here's the recipe I ended up using: https://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/traditional-irish-shepherds-pie-302120

It not only cooks better, but in half the time. And thanks for hipping me to that technique HHM! I knew there was a reason I sent out the old Wiss kitchen shears for a tuneup. Effortlessly cutting the back out of a bird was the reason.

Crack the breast bone to flatten it more.

Banana bread with hand-chopped chocolate. One for brown nosing the VP and one for my team.

Testing my diy sous vide cooker. So far I have $50 dollars into it. Buddy is going to 3d print me a case for everything. This pid will be able to control the sous vide as well as a temp controlled fan for my bbq.

nice!

I've ruined two sous vide units. the control panel does not like to get steamy.

If you own a hot plate or crock pot, you already have the heating element required. All that's left to get is the pid with relay and temp probe ($25) and the pond pump ($5) then whatever case you want to install it in and whatever power setup you want to run. Cheapest would be a left over power cord from something. I can help anyone who is interested in wiring.
