I also tried connecting in meatspace, went to a couple of meets and rides, eventually track days, parties, races, social stuff. In this process I met people in meatspace and really got to know them. In short, I tried to build some history and still doing so.

There are a lot of vets that get away with being outrageous and loud and Newer members thinking that this is how it is immediately come in with guns blazing. That's really not how it should work, in meatspace or in any social interaction. You got to build history, you gotta pay your dues.

BARF is a playground but you got to get to know the kids in the sandbox a little bit before coming in strong. There's a process. Again, this is my opinion.

Is there supposed to be shame for having affiliated with a gang in your past ? Would it make you feel better if I confessed to my past indiscretions ? (HAH, too late, I did that a long time ago )

Since you haven't been able to elucidate a reason;

I'll wait until Droopy makes the request, he seems to be able to express himself just fine, I don't see the need for you to rush to his defense.

Yes' on the accountable, we should all be held accountable for our behavior. Please reread the post, and hear it in a different voice. I don't believe that Marco, Budman, or BARF are being called lame. I think it's just a I get to come back and the world has changed and the hand I most wanted to shake has left the building "that's lame" kind of comment.

but in all seriousness, I really hope Marco would consider coming back but if he doesn't , I consider it growing pains for everyone involved. I'll see him in meatspace soon enough.

And Mr droopy, now that you have some notoriety, parlay that to some goodwill in building your own history here. The same people that seem like they were all up in your biz will be the same people that would get you out of a ditch and take you to the hospital with no questions asked. Barf is a great community, enjoy your stay here. :thumbup

I saw Steve's comment as relating things to Droopy, but to each's own. None the less, who we are and what we do in real life does show up here on BARF. There's no way to prevent that...I've seen it all end up here eventually. At the other end of the keyboard is a real person who's made real mistakes and lived a real life.

Expecting that not to surface on BARF for bad or for good is insane.
