I read the letter he wrote to Bud myself. I won't quote it here out of respect for his privacy, but the gist of it was that he had a couple of major issues with site policy--issues he's had even when he was a moderator from my understanding --and he was standing by them to the point that he would remove his account from BARF. I respect his principles and the extent to which he's willing to defend them. I've met him a couple of times--seemed like a good guy and his new career direction was a lot of fun to follow. I wish him the best. He's not gone, you just have to find another venue in which to talk to him.

Maybe the mods should be reassessing how they treat the members.
 
Sounds nice, life doesn't usually work that way in my experience. People bitch about whatever is upsetting them, then they forget and go back doing what they were doing. It takes dedication to constantly fight a fight, and I don't know of any web forum that's worth that kind of ongoing effort. The superiors know this, and as such, there will be no reassessment over one person. And it's fine, just use the site for whatever you get out of it, and be satisfied with that.
 
I don't give a shit if Marco is on BARF or not. He's still someone I'll welcome in my pit, anytime anyplace. BARF and the real world are many times, not one and the same. None the less, he did ask a request.

I'm not saying anything about the current issue surrounding bad dad (heck, I don't even know him and can't make reference to any recent posts), but running a place like this has got to be worse than herding cats.

In response to people being unable to control themselves when posting from behind a computer screen, the TOS was created and enforced by the moderators. This isn't because the moderators think we should all behave in a certain way, it's a reaction to people not being able to act like adults in a place that requires some very small sort of decorum.

I'm sure Bad Dad had reasons to not like whatever part of the TOS he had problems with or maybe he didn't like how they were enforced- I dunno. However, the TOS is a "best fit" scenario and the Moderators, well they do it for the pay. Some of us agree and some don't. Just like with everything else in this wonderful country of ours, you can choose to accept and abide by the rules of this PRIVATE SITE, or you can go elsewhere.

Some people choose to leave, some are sent packing. At least he's gone on good terms at his own choosing.
 
Wasn't BadDad complaining about the lack of consistency in enforcing the TOS?

And didn't one mod in particular go out of his way to suggest he leave the forum on at least two occasions, for doing nothing but criticize the forum which he clearly cared enough about to point out his beef?
