Pilot Road 4

PR3 report, 950 SM: subjected to hard acceleration on every single ride, the rear was at the wear bars at 2500 miles but at 3000 still feels great. The sides are now worn down pretty far, causing it to fall in, but traction's still great and I'll keep running them until they're really gone. Front looks great- probably 60% worn.
Can't ask for anything more! Curious about the 4.

Personally I love these PR3s. If true tha tthe PR4 will completely replace the PR3 that would be too bad. I love the PR3s.

My issues with Michelin ST tires is the way they wear. I'm only throwing around 100 hp and 68 ft/lb of torque on a good day. Yes, if you do it right you will still have sipes for 6-10k. But by 5k they feel super numb and handle horribly. So now you have abt. 5k of crappy feeling tires. Who knows maybe the newer ones will fix that issue.

Awesome, I've used the PR's for a while now and it's been my favorite tire for all around riding. They last long and have great grip on the twisties.

I've used the PR3s for years, just used the BOGO to try the AngelGTs. With the wear pattern I'm getting, I'm not a happy camper. Back to PRs, this time the PR4s. :thumbup

5k out of a high performance rear sport tire is excellent. If you want a longer lasting tire, you should go with a touring tire but you really won't like the way if feels, even new!

Yeah that why I'm running middle-of-the-road sports tires right now. With higher pressures and changing the way i ride a little bit i can squeeze a good 4.5k miles before they start feeling really bad.

I'm very tempted this season to get some ST tires and just deal with re learning the way they feel and save me the trouble of shoeing on new rubbers every 3 - 4 months.

So you've tried the Pilot Road 3 or not? There isn't any re-learning to do, you'll just have somewhat heavier steering compared to a pure sport tire.

LOL I was set on trying the PR3s, then these came out. Currently i've been sticking to Pirellis. Choices!

I'd get whatever is available, 3's or 4's. I've been using these since the PR2's and they've all been great.

If they could make a rear P power that takes my abuse for 3,000 miles I'd be all over it!
They weight 1.5 pounds less than the same size PR3 and for unsprung weight that's a lot. If you know your bike well, you can feel it.

So, I have a k1200s. Which would be best for it, the standard or GT version? I think it's about 550lbs.
