Trying out coffee I bought at a random cafe last week, signs advertised it as a locally roasted by someone in Marin and I needed beans so I figured I'd try it, so far, not bad, not as strong as the smell of the beans hinted at.

Towed a friend of a friends project bike a few miles to my garage yesterday with my bike, a little sketchy and a lot hilarious. Dude has gone over it and couldn't get it to run. He was listing things he'd done so we "didn't have to get back into those" but I am pretty sure my first two steps will be to confirm spark and open up the carb. I suspect either the wrong jets were used or the float level is way off. It's pretty easy to mix up your pilot and main jets if you have bad eyes, and that will definitely create a no start situation. I've learned this lesson on my own :laughing

was wondering where'd nate go. thought he busy already!

eating easy-going stuff today, and fruits - because yesterday somebody gave me cake, then I ate mexican food and it turns out it turned my stomach into a bowl of waxy paint without thinner. :dunno

Second coffee today, with the megalomaniac name CERRO MEGATON - not my fault that's what they sell at TJs...

Well I was just informed that I got the transfer at work. yeah I get to work with adolescents again
congrats.

Hi Melissa!

Great news Melissa!! Collective exhale and sigh of relief.

... ... only it's much funnier if you think about it as "what programming engineers do" :rofl

as for losing weight, probably three meals, BUT with things like greens, nuts and tofu , would help MUCH better. morning : grains, evening: eggs.

p.s. ask me how I know..

hopefully I have time to unmount, replace disk of the rear brake today, and tighten them 6 bolts to "6 Nm". don't have a baby-tork-rench. first time doing this on a bike/bicycle... have a brand new disk. hoping I'd be doing the right thing.

also will mount a rear fender. uncanny how I need to remove the rear wheel to bolt that

I don't see ice cream on that list.
:nchantr
yeah that's fine once or twice a week, if you subsitute it for the afternoon cookie :)

It really is uncanny how many job postings are filled within a day or so of my application being received. I guess I have my finger on the pulse of the industry or... something :laughing

figres I should share how I got overexcited this afternoon and made not-a-cappuccino

wait. not-an-espresso, actually, ,,, the size of this cup is 2.5 oz...

We brought someone in through a temp agency a few months ago here at work to help in the warehouse while my shoulder was recovering, and to open my schedule to transition into outside sales. He's been a fairly reliable worker and we've been talking to him about hiring on permanently when our contract with the temp agency is fulfilled at the end of December/ beginning of January.

Got an email from the agency this morning stating that he had resigned from this placement as he had been offered a job elsewhere.
I'm frustrated that we as a company will need to source and train another candidate but I'm much more fuckin irritated he didn't have the stones or decency to tell me himself.

That's pretty lame given you'd been in talks about hiring him, might have been more $$$ but he should have let you all know and given a chance to counter the offer if he was worth it, which, I'd say now maybe he wasn't..

Rudeness and cowardly behavior is kind of a chicken and egg problem these days. Companies frequently do things like ghost candidates and give false signals during a hiring process and employees respond in kind. I've seen even C-level hires accept an offer and then not show up for work on the first day. Not sure how this got started, but it seems like employers and candidates behave badly and without consequence.
