Progressive sucks

I have been pleased with my Progressive coverage. Used for no-fault and at-fault incidents, and have absolutely nothing to complain about.

I haven't had the pleasure of having to file any claims (knocks on wood), however I can say that I've been pleased with their roadside assistance. My bike broke down in Oakland two years ago, and instead of towing it to the nearest shop, they made an exception and towed it all the way to my house in Vallejo. :teeth

Progressive is fine if you never file a claim or call them. If all you need is cheap insurance their great.

I had them for 15 years? Until I got hit the year before last.

Progressive is not the insurance company you want to call when you're in an accdient.

It's a dreadful feeling-being FUCKED by your insurance company..

It might as well be the guy who hit you's grandparents and their like.. "OH HELL no.. he could have never done that. My granson is a good boy." "That was YOUR fault, you shouldn't have been there for him to hit you!"

I went back to Geico and there really isn't much difference in terms of what I am paying/year to Geico vs what I paid to Progressive. I just went with Progressive on a whim(to try something different) not because they were cheap.

$30 cancellation fee. The thing is I set up policy online without tying up their phone lines and would have cancelled online as well except they don't offer that option.
All insurance companies fucking suck!!! They'z Satan's own spawnage. :devil
After pay'in in fer 38 yrs, I dun made mah 1st claim last fall, and it dun took 'bout 3 months of fight'in w/ 'em ta get a decent pay out.
Fuck the cock suckers! :mad

I never used progressive or geico, but i have called them for quotes. I use State Farm and bundle in homeowner's policy. The rates for my fz-09 through state farm were less than half of what progressive and geico wanted.

This is my experience with them as well, and why I would never use Progressive.

I need a bumper sticker: "If you have Progressive insurance - Don't hit ME."

I disagree, when I worked for Progressive it was always indemnify indemnify indemnify.
I think all insurance companies have the potential to be a nightmare. Try having a claim with State Farm :wtf
The Sprinter took over four months to resolve. The medical remains unresolved.

The thing with claims is that people often say too much. People want to believe they have little or no culpability. People often disagree with liability decisions. It's a tough job, some adjusters are better than others. The best thing to do when filing a claim is have all the facts together, if there are witnesses, have their information ready, if you are going into a total loss situation have your values documented accurately.

...I will NEVER support Progressive in any way. I'm tempted to get a bumper sticker: "If you have Progressive Insurance, Please don't hit ME."

What do you want your bumper sticker to say?

I was told the $70 cancellation fee was mandated by the state of California.

:laughing

By who? That person should be out of a job.

I allowed my bike policy with Pacific Specialties to expire (permanently). No fee, no hassle.

I allowed my car policy with GEICO to expire. Called 2 months later to re-start it. No fee.

Pretty sure the fee only applies if you're not fulfilling your term.

The trick is to tell them you're moving out of state and not taking the bike.

If you are a good risk, most insurance companies are about equal. Progressive has been great for me, but I pay out way more than I ever claimed against.

Less than $500 per year for high limit coverage on car, $200 for bike with comprehensive, no collision. They will "fuck" you when your contribution starts to creep up on your claims.

i have progressive, been good to me. but i never had to file a claim where they paid me out. its always been paying another party or having a party pay me.

good to know about all these negative feedbacks tho. i will be looking into another company when my insurance is over for a better rate

Just to let you know for the 10th time in this thread, my experience with them handling and paying for my not at fault accident was exceptional.

They made it painless (well minus my broken toe) and took care of everything. They got me a more than fair price for my things and handled all the nasty business with the other insurance company.

In all honesty it could not have gone any smoother. I was very impressed and I hope every insurance interaction goes the same.

There are others in the thread with similar experiences.

not sure why all the negative, had a progressive claim went ok for me, then got into a not at fault accident with a statefarm insuree, i rejected payouts 3x and got what i wanted finally, and at first they had the nerve to say their insuree was the victim and i was at fault rear ending her, lucky for me i had a witness.

at least progressive moto full coverage gives you a minumum XXXX$ for upgraded aftermarket parts, i think other insurers these are optional add ons.

This. I believe it boils down to what you expect your insurance company to do for you. If you carry just liability and you get in an accident your insurance is not going to be much help to you. It is just another product, make sure you understand what you are buying before you buy it.

FWIW, I had AAA charge me a fee for cancelling with them. That was about 10 years ago.
