RIP Marco Simoncelli

Woke up to the news. This is the 1st in race death since I've really started following MotoGP. I've seen so many crashes that the riders end up just walking away from... you almost get numb to how dangerous it really is out there.

RIP Marco.

This will be bothering me for awhile... very sad to hear first thing this morning.

RIP

Glad to hear Edwards will be ok. I'm sure him and Rossi are both quite shook up.

Rossi must be totally completely and utterly devastated. I can't imagine.

r.i.p. young man. You still made your mark.

Godspeed Marco. This is a tragic loss. He had such a bright future. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.:rose

This is what I've been thinking. Watching the vid, Rossi's front tire hit him right in the helmet. :(

Marco

We are going to miss you. Such sad news, racing will never forget you.

RIP Super Sic :rip

It was disturbing seeing him laying on the track w/o his helmet and not moving. I knew at that point I had seen something I never wanted to...and I hope to never see again.

Marco was one of the coolest guys in the paddock. I really feel for Valentino as well. This has been a very difficult year for him to say the least. Horrible news.

:rose Rest in Peace, Marco.

Very sad news! Had high hopes for Super Sic in MotoGP. Met him last year at the D-Store event; came across as a real stand-up guy.

It's not supposed to be those who struggle and fight with every breath and beat of their heart to improve and succeed who are taken from us. But the cruel, cold hands of death and fate do not play fair or follow the path we desire.

In few other riders could the will to win, to fight and to succeed every second be as clearly seen as they were in Marco. He rode every corner like it was his last, and it's unbelievable and devastating for him to have truly reached it so soon.

He excited, delighted, enthralled and exasperated those who watched him over the course of his career. Sleep well, you soul of competition.

^ Beautifully stated.

RIP. I haven't been watching this season much but just recently read a couple of issues of Bike which talk with Marco. Knowing his closeness with Rossi, Rossi must be devastated. Holy crap.

What happened before the impact? Looked like Marco's bike was rolling almost perpendicularly across the track with Marco way, way off the right side. Surprised the bike was still upright.
