There's a fine line between making it entertaining or just being an annoying ass. Rousey couldn't pull the entertaining part, plus she's a hypocrite.

McGregor is a big mouth also but he balances it with some occasional humility and an ability to separate selling a fight from real life.

Rousey's approach could only works while she's winning, you lose you automatically become just the annoying ass.

You're discounting the bandwagon affect. A lot is forgiven as long as you're winning. Being an ass is passed off as being part of a single focused champion and it helps sell fights.

There are tons of loud mouths in sports... Some of them live a long career of backing it up their mouth... Whereas, others get it wired shut in their prime (<30 years old)

BRO... you do realize that GSP made a ton of money in MMA being the nice guy, right? I've stated in the MMA thread that I get the point of the heel... I get the Brock Lesnar, Chael Sonnen characters. Difference between them and Drowsy Ronda Rousy is that they could turn it off. They were entertaining, but you know that's what it was.

Ronda is ultra-abrasive and I sincerely do not think its an act. Even other fighters can't stand her. Not all of them are best buds, but few seem to be able to tolerate this woman.

Ever stop to think that this is all one huge marketing machine to bring the UFC more mainstream? There's a puppet master behind this puppet and he's puffy and hairless. She appealed to the casual and n00b MMA fans. I get why they did it, but I personally don't care for it.

Gender and weight class aside, she's not that great. There were a lot of factors at play that allowed the Ronda Drowsy experience to happen and she absolutely did not do it all by her self. I just hope this little experiment is over so we can get back to regular-ass UFC/MMA.

One positive is the fact that this fight wouldn't have been nearly as L0Lz-inducing as it was had she not been such a raging tool for the past few years.

It's probably better she leave the sport for good before sustaining a life altering injury in that ring. People are in there trying to kill you and she never treated it with the respect that understanding commands nor had the mentality to contend in such an environment.
