God forbid someone not understand why people would talk shit about a group of riders who blocked a public road for their own personal amusement.

When have you been behind our chapter. Trapped on a public road because we stopped to stunt?
Again. The generalizations.

Image is a bitch. You can say "We don't give a crap what people think of us", but you can't say "We don't know why people think of us as such."

You'll never hear me argue that....

That's why the trash-talk has to stop. If I had ever met an RR after my incident, I would have said something like I did here.

And I do hate rich kids...and they didn't even steal my bike.
:p

The world would be a better place if we learned to communicate rather than condemn.
Its because of stuff like this we have a Public Relations Officer. Try talking to her. All I do is make sure everybody gets a flu shot.

I don't hate rich kids, but I really don't like them. Line em up with the keyboard commandos and let em have it.. :troy

interesting comment?!

i fail to see the relevence of having to be there, on scene, to make a general comment on this type of behaviour.

How did you know he was rich? :confused

I guess as part of the deal he made he agreed to apologize, or maybe he was ordered to. His father was so embarrassed at what his son had done he just kind of started rambling. He stated that they had plenty of money and wasn't sure why his son did what he did. I chalked it up to kids being kids. No biggie. Alls well that ends well.

Because I am only talking about my chapter. I love the whole family, but I have no idea aside from the clip, what happened down there. I thought someone mentioned 880 as well, or not.

Look, if you wear a badge, you must expect to be viewed as a member of a group.

Just like i have nothing but respect for a certain local motorcycle group because of the actions of their members. I have no respect for anyone who chooses to wear the RR badge because they've never done anything to prove to me that they're worth a damn. Thus far, all i've seen is they're a group of inconsiderate jackasses. You'll forgive me for making judgements only on what i've seen, which is a youtube clip labled "RR ride" with a bunch of RR riders stopping the entire freeway to act like idiots.

If your group isn't strong enough to self police, and come down hard on those who disobey, then maybe you should reconsider your membership. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that if anything happened like this with the previously mentioned local group, heads would ROLL. End of story.

Maybe your PR officer, rather than condoning a huge group ride involving a shitload of members holding up traffic so they can practice being the numba one stunna's on the freeway, should do something productive with her time, like organize newbie rides, or help people learn how to ride their motorcycles, or perhaps just start doing some stuff that doesn't involve breaking the law and making life suck for a bunch of people. Just a thought.

I understand. But at the same time have you heard about the good things we have done? I'm sure you haven't, because we are always portrayed in a negative light. Did anyone hear about our "Coat Drive" last year? Did anyone hear about the donations we made to local schools. Did anyone hear about the old lady we did CPR on Tully a few months back who got hit by a bus? No. I'm sure you didn't. Yes we do have some bad apples, but we have a lot of good ones too. But people see one or two bad things in some and forget all the good. People see the good in others and overlook the bad.

There is no need for me to reconsider my membership. But I understand where you are coming from. A lot of these guys have treated me like family from a time before I got in this club.

Like I said that wasn't our chapter, so that is a moot point. We do an all girls ride. We do put on riding clinics for our members. As for the not breaking the law part, give me a break. Nobody on here is a saint (maybe clutchslip).
Like I said before I am not on here to try and defend what anybody did. In all honesty, I don't care if you like me or not. Just like a lot of you don't care what I think about you. I'm just here to let you know what's really going on.

The quote I was refering to came from the RR forum and written by the president of the SJ chapter. Or did someone hack his account and post the message? The thing you fail to realize is that cagers and dorks like me can't tell if its the Socal RR holding up traffic or the Norcal RR doing it all people see is the RR vest. Frankly, does it really matter? You are part of the Rough Ryders and like to project a certain image. Don't be surprised when people make generalizations based on the image you project. Instead of just letting what people say go, why don't you guys listen and maybe just maybe see someone elses point of view.

I looked into this one a little further and it pretty much happened the way it is stated, with a couple of differences. The thief was not a RR. He was a friend of a prospect. Since the incident the prospect has been kicked out. Since it wasn't an actual RR, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an apology.

As for the theft please read the SBR thread. It's fairly clear as to what happened. As I said I don't know if the thief is a RR but thats who he was with. http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45246

Thats really cool, nice to see you guys reaching out. Now, if only I could see some good RIDING out of this group instead of the douchbaggery that seems to be prevelant. I was passed by a group of RR's going down 84 because I was not passing on the double yellows, pissing off motorists. I was following a car, they passed myself and the new riders I was with on both sides of us, without an invitation....all in a big rush to get to the bottom and stop. I haven't seen an ounce of good riding out of them so far, just the typical squid with tons of youth and zero skill.

like any group of bikers...we're all have an image of a bad ass biker...its just the stereotype comes with riding. ive rode with diff. crews and go to lots of events in which bike crews support/created....we know since its our hobby/passion but other folks dont....

this shite is like the news....mostly negative, some positive....

So what would the RR's do if they found out that their crew is full of bike theifs? That they have at least 5 guys that have been stealing bikes all over the bay area for the last few years? What would they say if one said that pretty much most of the entire crew knew about this? That this is where they get all their parts from? Need a motor? Need any parts? Its all good with the RR. They got that for you. Lets just say that this is not arguable. Lets just say I know this for a FACT................I'm no snitch, but that shit is out of line..........................................

Cannery row? What a coincidence? RR? Bike theifs? NO WAY!

Just as you would hope for honor amongst thieves, you would hope for honor amongst bikers. If this is true then these guys are lower than whaleshit.

Those are some very strong allegations!

I would think something like that would start getting around... just like you say you know about it, then many more people would know about it.

And if this is true and you knew about it and didn't say anything about it before, then you are no better than anyone you are accusing.

I know several of the RR and they are good guys. I have not been around when any of the things listed in this thread happened. I just know what I have seen personally. Sure there are going to be a few bad apples in the crowd....but there are many more great guys in the group. I don't live in the Bay, so I have not seen the stuff you guys say happens on the freeways on a daily basis. Just keep in mind just because someone has the RR on their back it doesn't mean that person is like what you see on You Tube.
