<<< SF Monthly Night Ride Friday 4/30 >>>

Great ride again everyone, the sand wiggle in the left lane was so sketchy and the girl passed out on the sidewalk on broadway was too damn funny!

That was fun! I kept up just fine, I was pretty surprised-- I'm finally getting to the point where I can handle the bike well enough I don't have to think about it a lot, so I was able to focus on traffic and the like. Wow so many people! But seriously, don't bunch up so much-- especially on the Great Highway, there is ALWAYS sand on part of the road, always, and you need to be careful.

There was one collision there, two guys zigged at the wrong second I guess-- I didn't see it happen, but I was the one in the neon helmet who stopped and helped get the Duc off the road. Both riders took some dings to the helmet but still have all their important bits attached. Hope you guys aren't too sore today! Sorry about your poor bike again, Andreas. :(

I couldn't do much besides lend a phone, but Bill and Anne you guys were really great, making sure the riders were coherent and taking the Duc to a side street and then getting the SV a new duct-tape shifter at Home Depot. Thanks for helping me find my way back to the group after!

We hooked back up with everybody in... actually I dunno where that was exactly, some parking lot in the dark heh!

The Broadway Tunnel was pretty wild, hearing everybody coming up behind me with that crazy howling noise. Kickass. :cool

Yeah, i was 3 or 4 bikes behind the accident.. those guys need to be more careful..i saw that whole thing in slow motion...first mistake, they shouldnt have been riding 3 wide in 1 lane, the guy on the duc riding two up, was too close to the curb where all the sand had accumulated...second, the guy on the burnt orange sv shouldnt have been in the middle of the lane...

the duc tried avoiding the sand and went towards the middle of the lane at the same time the sv guy went a lil to the left...they briefly kissed, bounced off each other, duc hit the curb/sand, and bounced back into the sv before they all went down. Luckily that yellow car and no other riders got caught up in that....:thumbup......i helped pick up the sv bc the guy seemed to be a lil shaken up while his bike was still in the middle of the road with traffic backing up behind us...fun ride though..will def do again

thx to all the people who helped me out after the fall on great hwy, I'm ok and my bike should be fixed by next weekend wooo wooo

/\/\/\ Who's that sexy ass dude with that sexy ass bike? Oh wait, that's me! :rofl Thanks for the pics dude downloaded them I like the starting point ones...even if my back is turned and I'm tying my shoe in them! =P Great shots of the skyline at night too.

Oh and to reiterate, I posted it once but it warrants posting again - group rides, ESPECIALLY with that many people, never more than 2 abreast in a lane, with the exception being when we're stopped at intersections. Just not enough of a safety buffer around you when there's 3 abreast, I saw several people last night weaving through bikes like they would traffic on a freeway. Passing someone who's going slower than your pace - cool, got it, did it myself several times last night. Flying right up the middle between 2 people, or just cruising alongside them right in the middle, not as cool. Not trying to be a killjoy but I almost hit people who were doing that a couple times when I needed to avoid a big pothole or something and just had no room to maneuver.

good fun guys.

How about the silver cbr guy that stoped at the light? I think his bike died.

Was that the bad brake line? :(

Kudos to (forgot his name) with the leaky KTM. Dude went and got his other bike and got right back in the mix. :thumbup

To ya pusses whining about the sand - get a motard! :ride

Good ride everyone. Looking forward to riding with a bit more daylight, seeing as I'm a first timer on alot of these routes. :twofinger

To the guys who were burning the lights on the great highway, Im not going to say any names but you know who you are. When you guys host rides you expect people to follow your rules, please follow ours. If you want to burn the lights down the great highway, do it away from other people. I dont like being stopped at the light and being passed by someone doing 120mph with a 2" gap.

All in all, GREAT ride, never seen a bigger turnout.

Connor when I passed by you down by the beach I remember thinking to myself "who the fuck is this guy hanging over the street"? Good spot man, nice videos.

There were a few issues at this ride that will be addressed for the next one. I saw at least one comment that said the ride was too fast. If the people around you are going faster than you care for then get towards the back. There wasn't a whole lot of speeding going on back there.

We did have one guy get pulled over on Chestnut. When you see people tapping their helmets and pointing at a SSFPD car, blowing stop signs with him behind you probably isn't the best idea ever.

Sukka Fool!, you missed out on the best part of the ride. We ran 140+ to the bridge. We grouped up and stopped all traffic from crossing, then we forced them cagers to back the f*ck back into The City. We looped onto TI and took a group piss at the gate; the guards were so shook-up they tore off their uniforms and ran screaming into the darkness all girly-like (no offense to our fellow girl riders/passengers). We took pics, mounted back up and proceeded to cross back to The City RIDING OVER THE WATER! We pulled a group wheelie the entire length of the Embarcadero, stunted in front of Centerfolds, and stoppied the entire length of the Broadway tunnel, at 100+mph while revving for redline. Up at Coit Tower we took a massive group dump at the base of the statue as the hapless tourists looked on in horror. We then hit up In'N'Out by riding our bikes up in and treating that biotch like a drive-thru. Then we went home.
So, how was that Korean BBQ?

:twofinger

plus there were limos full of playmates on TI who all stripped down naked at the sight of motos flying in

Great ride, guys. :thumbup Massive turnout. BTW, they completely closed that section of Great Highway with the sand spillage today. It's windy out there, boys and girls...:ride safe.

Heh, who was the dude who completely missed the TI exit? I was maybe 15 bikes back from the front runners but there was a huge gap between me and the next one up so I started kinda leading the next group, we were weaving traffic but then the exit was coming up so I started just cruising in the left lane, put my turn signal on hella early, then some dude got tired of me slowing down, punches it, goes 3 lanes over then sees the exit and could only make it back through 2 and had to keep going on the bridge lol. TI was a nice little spot though great view of the city at night.

That would be me :twofinger

According to Corbett he hit the sand 'mini dune' at around 90, i was right behind him so I guess I hit it around 80 on the KTM :wtf I felt the bike wiggle under me and my butt cheeks clench.

I figured out the problem with the KTM today though :thumbup. Too much fawking oil in the crank case causing it to spit out through the airbox (its a bloody mess).

As it was said as well, if the people around you are riding too fast, then move to the rear if you don't feel safe.
