I've been riding for almost two decades now, and all this time I've called the intersection at (Alice's) Hwy 84 and Skyline "Four Corners."

Now I hear people calling Hwy 9 and Skyline "Four Corners," and Alice's.... just Alice's.. So which is it???

And what do you call the one at Hwy 92 and Skyline??
92 and Skyline, I suppose.

It makes it hard to figure out just where they mean when somebody says, "let's meet up at four corners!"

It must be a generational thing:x

I agree....its kind of funny....

People I know always want to go to Alice's but not really at Alice's but at the parking lot across the street from it.....

I was always confused which was 4 Corners but since Alice's ( the parking lot across from the restuarant )was already spoken for, I call 35/9 as 4 Corners....

Now "Frontside" and "backside" of 9 always seems confusing as well.....

And the "Loop".....don't even let me start on that one....:laughing

Woodside and Skyline.....another of the same but different to others.....some call the east bay Skyline as well.....

to me 35 and 84 is "ALICE"

9 and 35 is "4 Corners"

this rider once said he was riding 4 corners, reply was alice or 9? he replies huh? I mean miami, new york, seattle, and san diego. he was riding his aprilia across 4 corners of the country. anyone want to join me sometimes? we spend a weekend or 10 riding 4 corners.:teeth

I think it's that Four Corners restaurant that screws everyone up. Saratoga side of 35 = frontside, La Honda/Boulder Creek = backside. 9/35 = Four corners, 84/35 = Alices.

I've been guilty of calling 9/35 "4 corners" before. Now I just call it Saratoga Gap or "the gap".

From what the older riders tell it, "4 corners" is actually the parking lot across from Alice's and the intersection of 9/35 is Saratoga Gap or "the top of 9".

Oh yeah John, the "front of 9" will always be the Saratoga side. :p :laughing

Can we get some of the local old skool riders (Gary J, Doc Wong, and others) to chime in here??

In that book The Racer's Image, they just call 9/35 "The Hot Dog Stand".:teeth

Haha, that's a good name for it. Is The Racer's Image that book with the Hwy 9 signs all over it??

Lately, we've been referring to 35 & 9 as the "4 - way", since 35 & 84 (Alice's) has always officially been "4 - corners"...

Or just "the top of 9"...

I have been following the same naming convention as Wolf suggested, only based on various posts I read here and on ba.moto..

I'm of the mind that there'd be no reason to re-name Alice's, so the other (35/9) must be 4-corners. I'm all for dropping "four corners" altogether, and just using "Alice's" and "the hot dog stand" (which will be OK until it's gone, and then your directions to a friend start "Go up to where the hot dog stand used to be....")
