Someone threw a rock (and hit me) on Hwy 9 today (7/4/06) (Warning - blood)

First Mike, Glad to hear you are okay. Not like you don't have enough on your mind already.

What sort of "report" did the cops take? Is there any sort of complaint that can be filed if there's no one to file it against? Did they give you any idea what they might do to prevent this from happening again?

And it sucks that you can't even ride safely in your own hometown. :(

Nah. Its reinforcement to ride those roads MORE and the high profile roads less. Asshat riders stay away from those roads, so the locals have much less to complain about.

Unless someone spent a few hours wet sanding and polishing the stone before they tossed it, I doubt that anyone would be able to lift a fingerprint off of it.

From the looks of that gash in Moike's arm, the rock wasn't highly polished.
 
Sorry to hear about this shit going on, and glad you are ok. You are right, the end result could have been a lot worse if the rock hit you in a worse place, or if you riding experience wasn't as much as yours is.

I've heard of the Sabatoge stories up there before, mainly oil on the road, but never witnessed it.

....I would imagine residents in the area could be easily baited into this kind of behavior with loud bikes in large packs.... but, by no means makes it right,
 
It is my opinion that maybe you should hide out and scope the area out for a while until you find the person who did this,if and when you do,please kick them in the face for me .Glad that you are ok,even though I do not know you,I hate to see fellow riders get hurt,especially from someones ignorance.Nice to see that the tatt wasn,t messed up either.:teeth :teeth

There are enough of us residents who ride WITH those large, loud packs that we would help hold down the miscreant while you wheelie over him. Even those of us who commute on four wheels would be badly messed up by unexpected oil or gravel on the road. Grrrrr.

I wonder if any of the ex-military boys/girls on BARF would be interested in posting up in the bushes near the trails in those turns for a weekend to see if they can "catch" this individual/group?

I just got this from the Prez of a local Motorcycle Club... Their
members know a thing or two about riding, and know Highway 9
just as well as any of us.


Our Road Captain Leo, went down 2 weeks ago, on Hwy 9, under mysterious circumstances!
He says his bike all of a sudden wanted to swap ends, and then he was down.
Doesn't know why. Sustained a head injury, home now recuperating from concussion.
Doesn't remember what happened, .....wondering now if maybe head injury caused accident??
(he's gonna be ok, but bike is totaled)
