radar or laser... The CHP didn't calibrate their lasers in over a few years. Won that one.
Just to show the difference between cal and other states, not to rub it in, I got a ticket two weeks ago in Montana for supposedly doing 84 in a 70. Total bail is $40! I wonder how long it will take for the point to show up here?
That 25MPH limit is why many dont bother with RWR anymore. Going nearly double a posted limit anywhere isnt a good idea. Regardless of actual or perceived risk (perceived risk for me is that LEO might just be around the next corner so better back it down).
The cost however is borderline insane.

$360 is the max number (2012) that I have for the Uniform Penalty Code, so $377 is pretty close. There is not much Uniform about the fines, except the base amounts, it appears to me.A lot of the "fine" is taxes and assessments. Blame the county for taxing the bail amount.

Is there a link to where I can find what counties charge the highest fines and/or CRAZY LOW speed limits? So far I've searching for rides looking at apps and playing with google maps. I can see myself looking at RWR and thinking what a cool ride it would be. Except for the 25 limit. Argh. That should be only near schools...
Never...Things are different in Montana..And by things..I'm including people.
Californians have visited Montana for ever, been exposed to nice Montana people,
and then return to California...And continue being Californians.
CVC 22350 says not to drive faster than is safe, and nothing about exceeding posted limits. I haven't contested using that one in quite awhile..doubt it would fly. I think last TS I took was $135. dammit.
I got tagged going into Roseburg, OR in my GMC at 100 once. $80 ticket. Put it in the mail..this state is going to hell...
Again, each county taxes the bail amount as they see fit. Not the state going to hell, the county you got that ticket in likes to get you over the barrel.
Don't get caught speeding in Santa Cruz... 21 over cost me over $500 and they denied my request for TBWD!!!
Can they do that? Or was it a mandatory court appearance?
You could break 25 on a bicycle on rwr.
Facing a bs $400 fine I wouldn't be shocked if people were tempted to run.
Just got my notice on a totally BS, as in no risk anywhere, 44 in a 25 on RWR.
$377 and a point on the license.
$436 for traffic school, and no point.
If you didn't know before, now you do.
That is all.
Where on RWR? I'd like to know...

22350. No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.
The Trial de Novo would be if there was a decision made on the TBWD. As for the judges being on the warpath, yep, I can see that too. The MC fatals, so far this year, are off the map state wide. Maybe I should bump my Bloody Sunday thread. (Not referring to you and your riding habits, just that riders are being killed all over the place.)

But.. 44 in a 25? please...![]()
