Starbucks again

Last night bedtime, went to bed what would have been a half hour later; by the clock it was a half hour early. I likely was one of the kids educatorswanted to put on Ritalin, . I\drink of coffee at dinner./ can drink coffee at 10 p.m.and go to sleep. …’ve a morning cup of coffee last me six hours +. An iced latte in the evening is delicious.
The cup I made this morning.. had two sips of it in an hour and a half. I don’t mind drinking it cold.
Off I go.
Everyone enjoy your day.

starbux has always had garbage coffee. It's how they roast the beans. They claim to use some kind of jet engine shit in their advertising materials (I guess that impresses a certain crowd) and it delivers about what you'd expect, really bitter, gross coffee. They might (probably) are also using super shitty quality beans but you wouldn't know, because the roasting process destroys the taste anyway (and maybe that's the entire point.)

I think I stopped going there 20 years ago? At some point they seemed to have transitioned to just selling liquid sugar/ice with caffeine.
I'm pretty sure that is the point - consistency is more important than quality, so to make sure the same cup of house blend tastes the same in SF today as it does in NY in six months and OH two years from now and Dubai and etc etc etc they overroast the crap out of the beans so it always tastes aggressively mediocre (and easy to replicate!)

to be fair, though, I recently stopped by a Starbucks Reserve Roastery up in Seattle and it actually was pretty good to my unrefined palette

Does anyone have experience with the Breville BDC650BSS Grind Control Coffee Maker? We have used Cuisinart Grind 'n Brew DGB-800
machines for ages, the 12 cup capacity one with a burr grinder. The Breville is roughly twice as expensive, but all the online reviews I found favour the Breville.

I dig the reserve locations. There was one in the Philippines that was connected to the hotel I stayed in. I went there a few times a day.

For Brewed coffee, i had bought a nice Zojirushi. But i have no longer a need for that amount of coffee. It wasn't a grind as you go unfortunately. I've moved on to making cold brew via the Toddy system. I highly recommend it for those who like cold brew.
