Starbucks again

Starbucks has some troubles..

... well I don't care. They have too many stores., ALSO, the commodifying of the ordering, IS THE PROBLEM. The mobile app (which I don't have nor used of c) is the problem . You're not going to be talking to Meg Ryan if all you do is click on your app...

... Just as DoorDash is commodifying restaurants and making a problem for the restaurant industry.

Customer experience typically dies in the wake of efficiency and expansion movements. This is where Starbucks handed the other team the ball. They also ceded any ground they had in the "cheap cup o' coffee" market(s)...done so by forcing customers to add more $ into their order.

yeah when boomers hear Starbuck

starbux has always had garbage coffee. It's how they roast the beans. They claim to use some kind of jet engine shit in their advertising materials (I guess that impresses a certain crowd) and it delivers about what you'd expect, really bitter, gross coffee. They might (probably) are also using super shitty quality beans but you wouldn't know, because the roasting process destroys the taste anyway (and maybe that's the entire point.)

I think I stopped going there 20 years ago? At some point they seemed to have transitioned to just selling liquid sugar/ice with caffeine.

The medium roast instant coffee from bux is sublime. I agree about their drip, but now they use a machine in place of "pour overs" so it's less bad.

I’ve spent hours at Starbucks but have never tasted their coffee. They have absolutely nothing I’m interested in consuming.
For the sake of not being a free loader I’ll buy a hot chocolate, which is horrible, or an orange juice.
The business model of having people sitting around taking up space for hours after spending nothing more than a few bucks on a drink, doesn’t seem sustainable.
Im only there to meet up with fellow bikers and if I can’t find a seat outside I don’t hang around.

I loathe how Philz’ coffee guy signs my cup with Made with Love by Ralph.

I hate Starbucks too. However, there is a huge Starbucks in Milan that's huge that is really good. It's huge inside. They are roasting beans on site and baking stuff and making sandwiches. It was a step up in quality.

I abhor Starbucks too. When Covid hit, they changed their rewards program so that your rewards points would have a 6 month expiration. I had something like 3,000 points that were unusable because none of the stores kept regular hours for about a year and a half. They took all of my points (like a year of coffee's worth). When I complained to their shitheads in the marketing department, they put them back on for another two months and yet still, the stores would be close the majority of their posted hours. Fuck that place. I'll go if I have to, but that's like 3 times a year if that.

i am at the point where i hate paying for coffee that’s rarely as good as what i make at home. the only two places im stoked to get coffee from are cafe international because it’s potent af and formerly, philz.

I drink the coffee I make at home and it is delish.
I bought my beau an expresso maker and when he is here he likes to make us both a fancy cup.
I only drink one large cup each day because any more then I'll have sleep issues.
