If your point was "Day trading is risky, buyer beware, and Entoptic's ideas may cause you to lose money" then perhaps you should have said that. Instead you chose to attack him and try to control the direction of discussion in this thread. Hint, that's not how the internet works. It doesn't matter if he tends to play devil's advocate in political discussions, that stands separate from his conversation about stock picking and daytrading here, or in the crypto thread. I don't agree with most of his suggestions, but I'm not going to try and stop the conversation.
perhaps i can't word things as concisely as you do.
i know i can't stop the direction of the discussion in this thread, so i wasn't even trying to. i know i can post, just like any of you. and i was responding to the discussion that someone suggested that this thread be renamed or perhaps another thread should be started because there are a lot of conservative investors here. so, again, hindsight is 20-20. i can't deliver perfect lines at a moment's notice. i can only type what is on my mind.
he appeared to be a troll to me. this is what i mean: at this time, when people are wondering how much of their portfolio should be in equity or should they have anything in equity at all, along comes this discussion about pg&e. the pros and cons of buying this week. this guy professes to be a day trader, which he thinks automatically grants him the clout of knowing more than the usual john doe, suggesting that pg&e is a good buy, trying to generate interest in speculating on the stock price of a company that is likely to declare bankruptcy and continues to be in this pro-buying spiel, he's the only one talking. his MO is, he wants people to jump on the bandwagon, and he wants people to think he is a successful investor. pg&e is about to file for bankruptcy because it doesn't think it can remain solvent, so what is this joke about an analyst opinion that pg&e is solvent. what kind of rationale is that? it seems to me, getting people to talk about something they already don't have an interest is trolling. he never got a response by the way.
my opinion formed from all the posts i have read so far is, he is not a long-term investor. the posts made in the crypto thread seemed to me that he was trying to up-sell the non-asset based investments at the last rah-rah stage, so that there are others left holding the bag, while he found the ideal time to sell his shares. he has displayed troll-ish behavior to me. but you who are his friends, don't mind me. go ahead, continue talking about pg&e, the more there are people talking, the better ...
