Stoner retiring at end of 2012 season

Mick isn't so sure

''It'll be interesting to see if he does actually retire,'' Doohan told the Herald. ''I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get an offer from Honda or another team later in the year that he can't refuse to stay in the sport.
''I know Honda were counting on Casey to be the guy to keep them going for a few years and I'm sure they'd be willing to write a good little cheque to make sure he does stay there. I don't think the bidding is over yet to keep him in the sport.

And no one cares what Jorge thinks but
"a big loss for everybody, for the spectators, for the riders, because he's one of the most talented riders in the history of the world."

Stoner has been shit on by the press constantly, Rossi gets his dick sucked when he crashes or finishes 12th. Been the same way their whole careers, no? One is the golden child, the other, the ugly duckling. It's no wonder he's fucking tired of it, it's not fun to be hated on constantly.

It's nice to have someone else who holds facts as the most important thing in forming an opinion. :thumbup I don't have the energy to argue with all these people who don't.

Meh. If Rossi was the greatest hero in racing history, Casey had the chance to be the greatest villain ever. It was all set up for him. Matt mladin sure as fuck didn't mind constantly getting hated on, constant rumors of cheating and TC and al that. He fucking reveled in it. He loved playing the badass Aussie villain. And in the end, he became an awesome anti hero that People loved.

Casey needed to hang out with mat way more. Mat is a real Aussie lol

It's just that Casey wasn't...wait for it....mentally tough enough to handle the job :rofl

Being overly dramatic and holding grudges like most girls tend to do, yes. It's a bad thing.

For the record. Girls =/= women. I assume you are a woman and women don't act that way. All these posts about being glad Stoner will be gone is some ol' girl bullshit. This is not going to make MotoGP better.

In two years motogp will have lost Simoncelli and Stoner. That sucks.

you're not describing girls, you're describing F1 drivers :laughing

:thumbup matt was a prick's prick, in the great aussie 'i don't give a flying fuck what anyone thinks' tradition. gotta seriously love the dude.

Antagonize you? I'm not sure I understand. You mean patronize? In either case, that isn't my goal. As I've said, the conventional wisdom regarding Stoner is quite simply false but has been spouted by the idiot commentators for so long that it is taken as gospel.

not looking to be patronized. resent the implication. just make your case without continuously quoting me, and belittling my right to seeing things the way i do, and expressing my opinion regarding same. i won't consider it antagonism if it's fair play all round. i respect your different world view, and opinion, and your right to it. am only looking for equivalent treatment. and not to be cast a fool if i happen, in all sincerity, to disagree.

...when someone (in this case a motogp statistician) presents the facts as they know them, its not necessarily an attack on your opinion, its a refutation of your version of the facts. it does the dialogue a disservice to take it personally.

also...this is barf...

I guess his family are more important now.he will retire at the top of his game rather than clinging on to the top spot.He will be returning home to Australia and before long racing in the Aussi V8 super car series.:thumbup

Mladin said something stupid, that's why he never went past AMA level. You can burn bridges easily in such a small world.

Maybe Stoner wants Honda to mimic Ducati/Rossi and do whatever the hell he wants.

i wasn't expressing my opinion about anything statistical. stoner can statistically be the most badass rider that ever lived, hell, he can in actual fact be the most badass rider that ever lived. i bow to his badassness. it's fucking epic badassness.

i still think he's weirdly fragile.

If my personality as a wanna be racer followed me home I would have no friends.

Its a brutal cut throat business. Dont judge the farmer when he is cursing the soil, judge him by the result of his crop.

Dude is possibly the nicest lad in the pack. I will never know because I do not "know" him.

I really hope Doohan is right. Losing Stoner would be almost as bad losing Marco. Nobody like them in the paddock.

refutation

its a refutation of your version of the facts.

You know, I pride myself on having a pretty broad vocabulary and I have to say, I've never heard of "refutation" much less seen it used in a sentence. Cool. Thanks.:thumbup And now, a tribute to my "pretty broad" vocabulary: Enjoy. :teeth

Knowing data is not the same as correalating them with facts. Analysis is always subjective so gtfo with the expert argument... THIS is Barf :twofinger
