Heading to Kernville in a couple weeks. Bummer that 155 is closed.

178 falling into the river?? Shizza!

Happy to report to 155 is back open. The east part of the loop from Kernville to Lake Isabella is closed at some point but the west side is open. I took that and came back to Bakersfield using Highway 178. Breathtaking road…

Thanks Gabriel.

The rain made me think of this thread and you popped up with a report :thumbup

In case anyone is wondering, redwood road is still closed at the Chabot campground turn off. My Apple Maps shows it as open but it’s not

Went out there last weekend, red wood is still closed at the golf course, castro valley

The slide happened in Novato Tuesday evening on Redwood Boulevard next to U.S. Highway 101 and Olompali State Park.

The coordination and work that it took to restore gas service (PGE had major gas lines in the slide) and keep the freeway open is pretty amazing.

Hwy 84 reopened to 1-way traffic at the slide.

84 is going to be one-way traffic for another few months. I don't live there so I can't say if it was the right call or not but if they hadn't opened it to traffic they might be finished with everything by now.

I drove south on 680 Friday and they're still working on a City of Benecia waterline that was affected by a slide last spring, the part affecting the freeway has been fixed for months. And there was a big retaining wall failure east of Livermor on 580 that they're still working on.

It's pretty amazing how much damage those storms caused and how quickly "they" were able to respond and repair most of it.
