They scare the shit out of me. Once young men get into their twenties they have had some sense knocked into them. The 12-15 year olds have no fear, no sense, and no empathy. Bad bad combination.

I can totally understand your frustration over the issue as well and apologize for jumping down your throat a little more than I needed to. It's nice to see that you are trying to make a difference, and you should be proud of yourself for doing so.

Mark, thanks, however, no apology necessary, cuz it's the SINK!

In all seriousness, the General being dismissed this week made me see a few parallels between Afganistan and Oakland (bare with me, please).

Both Afganistan and Oakland crime are multi-layered, complex issues. You can't just kill more, arrest more, and expect things to get better. Multi-layered, complex problems require more then just a sanctioned shakedown, and, walking the streets today made me see things from other people eyes.

I think what I'm most frustrated about is Oakland's leaders DON'T GIVE A SHIT!

And where the fuck is Chief Batts? Have they asked him on whether or not he can lose 53 or 80 officers?
