I'm more of a Ron Paul guy than a Tea Party person, but they have at least brought the grave problems we are facing much more to light than would have been. I don't understand how people keep thinking that we can keep growing this government and everything will come out OK. Even if they follow through with this agreement, it only cut growth in the government, not anything in the size of the current government, plus the cuts don't happen till many of these weenies and the president will be out of office.

We face a fiscal nightmare in the country and no one seems to want to do anything to stop it. But we can't come together because half of us are on the government dole and half of us are paying for it. But we are all going to suffer when the economy completely crashes because these idiots keep pushing Keynesian economics on us rather than being fiscally responsible. Why aren't companies here hiring? Because thanks to Obamacare and other uncertainties of what the president and congress may do, they have no idea of the costs of hiring anyone or what is going to happen to their tax liabilities. In my personal life if I wasn't sure what was happening with my job I wouldn't be hiring a gardner let alone spending for a new car or washer and drier. Government does not creat jobs except by getting out of the way of the market.

Ron Paul was credited with fathering it but was never really part of it. He is the starter of http://www.campaignforliberty.org/ as his political organization. They have similar outlooks, but Ron Paul is more hawkish about getting us out of Iraq and Iran, ending the Fed, and ending corporate control in Washington as well as ending corporate welfare.

So we let those in government control how much who gets to spend what on elections? This doesn't sound like a bad idea to anyone? We think that congress has a lock on getting reelected as it is, I don't see this making it any better. How about we make the government work at what it is constitutionally mandated to do and stop picking winners and losers in business. Then the lobbyists would not have so much to do there.

Kind of bummed out that no one wants to post the representatives that claim to be "tea Party " members and how much they netted in Federal dollars to be sent back to their districts ,whilst at the same time telling you that Federal spending is "out of control"...


For everyone here spouting there is no "difference" in the two party's-that's a crock of shit..

One party is actively pursuing the Failure of America..
 
the tea party was viable for about 6 seconds before being taken over by the GOP and fox as a proxy to keep disgruntled people in the party...and thats all

We ARE THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!! I do see it as making things better. Now, much of the time, whoever has the most money wins, Dem or Repub. Put rules in place that open up the field for people with good ideas and no money. a level playing field.

Yeah I figured that out. Some languages have single and plural forms of "you", probably would save a lot of misunderstanding if English did.

That was the idea, but that's not how it worked out. And instead of who gets the most money winning, those already in power can guarantee they stay in power. Besides the problem of the first ammendment, how can we stop people from campaigning with raised funds without violating it. I know they've tried, and even parts of McCain Feingold were upheld but many were actually surprised it was. Things won't improve until we just simply go back to the limited powers that was originally intended. Now we have a govt. that can mandate insurance companies provide birth control and breast pumps for free. If they can do that, what powers don't they have?

Isn't the "tea party" proof the WE THE PEOPLE have control over the system?? Yes, dipshits were tricked into voting against their own self interests, but it was people (again, REALLY STUPID PEOPLE) voting for dumbasses funded by Americans for Prosthetics or whatever that made this whole mess happen.

I'm all for the left doing the same, peeling off the progressives and forming a group which caucuses with the dems ONLY IF DEMANDS ARE MET!!!! End these $$$$$ wasting wars DAMN iT!
