Light Bee vs Rubicon what a cheater bike this is. Also 7000ft elevation, Light Bee doesn't care about that!

In fact the SR/F beat the Ego at the last Refuel TT.

Um... I think that's is a lot less about the bikes and more about the people riding them. Kenyon is a super fast rider.

In 2018 he was only 1 second behind my 1st place time with the EGO, he was riding a SR.

Where did you park, start and turn around at? Miles? I was gonna ride it back in september but it turned out being the first snow of the year when i showed up that weekend also.

You rock big, dude. Make a separate thread and I can pin it for the "Best of BARF", with even more pics.

Almost everytime I rode the light be rained a bit haha. The weather was great most of the time just freezing at night had to use 2 sleeping bags haha. I will have a thread in movies and photos but I started from Loon Lake and rode to Buck eye Island lake and turned aroun. Only 7 miles!

2nd day I rode from Airport flats campground, rode the old rubicon trail to wentworth springs and then to the loon lake intersection. That was on my KLX.

Same day took the Light Bee to Bunker hill on a dualsport ride, dualsport moped hah!

Then I drove to the Tahoma side and started from the Mckinley Rubicon staging area. Rode the light bee to Observation point and turned around. I was so close to finishing 100% of the rubicon. All that was left was Cadillac Hill and Big Sluice. If this bike had double the range! But its a cheater bike on the Rubicon!

Next day drive to Hermit Valley and rode the Deer Valley Jeep Trail and that was pretty gnarly. They had like quarter mile long rock gardens/beds so tiring. These dudes on KTM rode up it and I passed em and they never showed up again haha I think they bailed! I was charging the Light bee for 2 hours after a group of jeeops hit the trail. 2 hours! i head on up and I catch them in 45 mins. Then I make it to the end and head back I catch them half way Bwahaha dirt bike powah! Course they not sweating their balls off getting a workout probably having a beer break ever 30 minutes haha

Buck Island Lake the farthest I got on the Rubicon from Loon Lake

Looks so nice. I thought it would of been snowed out with how it snowed there a couple weeks ago. I even gave up hope of riding it this year!

An 150 pound electric moto could be considered cheating. On the other hand, cheating is in the eyes of the accuser.

Awesome.

Edit... I rode my KTM 250MXC from Loon Lake to Cadillac Hill and back. 20 miles, ten hours, I was beat. I am confident I could easily do it on the Alta faster, not exhausted, with battery left to spare.

Next spring!

Nice Butch that sounds about right that's pretty much half the Loon Lake to Tahoe section. According to my GPS I was moving at a pace of 5.4mph average. Haha I was talking to some jeep guys and they said that's pretty good pace actually! It's really slow going I had to take lots of breaks and there was a lot of WTF moments like I was telling myself "Are you for real? you want me to go over that!? Ok..." Also it's easy to get lost especially in the slickrock, but it's fairly easy to get back on track, I had a GPS with me it was so handy. It's like a trials bike paradise, I could imagine just playing on the rocks all day. I could imagine a group of trials bike riders just hanging out on one section just telling each other I bet I can do that section or I can do it like this. etc...

I rode the KLX the next day on the Wentworth Springs section and I noticed the gas bike carries it's momentum through the rocks better than the electric. The electric is like it has a lightened fly wheel where my KLX feels like it has a heavy fly wheel. But it's more relaxing on the Light Bee since you don't have to turn it off or worry about stalling. Also don't have to worry about the jetting, the KLX would smell like fuel everytime I shut it off.

But yeah suddenly on a whim just wanted to go. I actually rode 2/3rds of the Rubicon on my DR650 couple years back. But I didn't do much of Loon Lake and I'm glad i didn't haha! I knew I had to do it now before it starts to snow. Fortunately it cooled down in the bay area and now it hot again to it turned out to be good weather in Sierras. It rained once at 0500 the night before I did Loon lake a bit. Then from the Tahoe side it rained again it was sprinkling and 40F, fortunately it didn't rain hard and the cool weather is welcomed when your getting the crap kicked out of you by rocks.

I also found out the battery doesn't like to be cold. Like 10C or 40F it doesn't want to charge. I found the sticker on the bottom of the battery that has the charging temp ranges and 10C is the lowest it will charge at. One night I literally took the battery out and stuck in front of a heater vent on my van to warm the battery up and then it charged then I wrapped my jacket around it. Another trick I learned is after you ride it charge it right away because the battery will be warm, I was able to charge it at freezing temps like that.

But yeah it was really fun, it's a different kind of riding I don't get to do very often. It was very challenging for me and I felt I started to get good at it. I almost want to do it again.

Just don’t tell anyone that this is one of the most spectacular adventures available to (sorta) normal folks on the planet and it is in our backyard.

Repeat: don’t tell anyone. We know where you live. Etcetera.

I've rolled the rubicon a couple of times on a TT500, I'm amazed that they take spores/tourists out on ATV's over the same trail, now.:wtf
The one thing your pix portray, the insignificant presence of your little bike. It doesn't look substantial enough to risk your life with the concept of simply returning to your starting point back in civilization.:thumbup:thumbup

Wow cool those fairings are sweet. I got to meet Brian Wisemann at Refuel 10 not everyday you get to meet the dude that helped design your motorcycle. He's a very talented guy. Might get to see that bike race at Refuel 12 in the prototype class! The Brammo record is still unbroken. Very cool stuff about electric motorcycle design. They show the Victory Empulse prototype race bike too. Also I drove past Light Fighter the other day haha it's near Seaside.

375lbs that's pretty good the Empulse TT weighs in at 460lbs it has a similar spec battery pack at 10.5kwh and that's a small electric bike. 200lb-ft of torque yeehaw!! Ack I was hoping Troy would take it out on the track for us.

Was up at Mission Moto Harley today and they have a LiveWire in the back. It's a great looking bike in person. Wasn't able to sit on it (didn't ask as it had a note on it and I thought it was already purchased) but they did turn it on really quick. Later I found out that it appears to be a bike from Milwaukee that's just meant to sit on the floor. They are not allowed to use it for Demo's or anything. They say they hope to get a demo bike soon.

One of the reason's they don't have it out on the main floor, I guess, is they are worried someone will turn it on and blip the throttle.. and of course.. wreck the bike.

Hoping they get a demo bike soon so I can go take a quick spin on one.

My Harley (listed below) has no sidestand switch and no clutch switch. Harley doesn't seem to care for much idiot proofing.

I wonder if the LW has a sidestand switch. If it doesn't, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

What do you expect to get from Harley for only 30K$? My Harley cost more than that and doesn't have such.

So yeah, it probably is possible, even with the sidestand down.

The HD shop in Rocklin, CA still does NOT have the Livewire. But they did turn on their charger station and I was the very first person to use it (and put the info on PlugShare with photos of my Energica SS9.

It does have a sidestand switch as when they turned it on for me it said "Sidestand down" with a little image of it down... and I believe (IIRC) it said something about put kickstand up on the screen.

I think their concern is people often sit on the bikes, put the kickstand up, and switch them on. I've also seen them start up a Harley on the showroom floor for a quick second to hear it.. sooo I get where they are coming from.

I just think they could maybe use one of those boxes that blocks signals and keep the keys in an office or something.
