The Home Grower's Thread

At this point? I don't know man. I'd try flushing them, then give them a shot of some organic non-hydro fert. Or just let them go and do better next round.

The leaves on the plants I grew last year turned yellow in the flower stage. I read it's fairly normal with some strains. The nutrients from the leaves are used to feed the buds, which eventually kills the leaves. Similar to a deciduous tree.

That's normal. It called senescence. What hhm has is totally different.

Getting close!

How big should a bud be before harvest? Will it grow to reach a certain size and stop?

Despite all my yellow leaves the buds look good.

No. JT's buds are likely still a few weeks out. So are yours. Get a magnifying glass and look at the trichomes (resin glands). When they turn from clear to milky with some auburn colored ones, they are ready. Don't use hair color. That can be effected by touch.

Yeah I estimate 3-4 weeks? The color is not good because they turned orangey kind of quickly.

I'm thinking with the non-coco plants is that those are likely OVER nuted based on what you've learned me, what do you think?

I'm really curious what price to ounce ratio I'll get one this first grow, it will lilkely not break even on the setup until the 2nd grow. :(

I agree about the nutes. The buds look good but you will need to flush or it will taste like chemicals.

I know you don't recommend it but I have the highly rated autoflower and I'm debating between doing 4 plants I really tend to well or do like 8 in a "Sea of green" type setup.

I have no problem with autoflower. All that means is that it is crossed with ruderalis, a variety that buds depending on age not light cycle. I personally don't like the feminized seeds, but it's just a personal preference.

I just plant three per pot, then thin when I can tell the sex.

I know that was a joke.

yes cost vs. grow yield

I'd like to get to the point I never have to buy weed again

I'm there. Couple of plants in the backyard. I'm still going through my stuff from 2015. I didn't grow any last year. And I probably smoke more than everyone in this thread put together (except maybe abc).

I could put some plants in the sun for some awesome free light but it would be in the common drive area of the house complex and not advisable for obvious reasons :)

I need to cut a hatch into the roof...
