Questions about flipping outdoor. Nature flips them sometime in early August when the days shorten to about 14hrs. Since we normally flip plants indoor at 12/12, is the plant flowering because change > hours?

The reason I ask is, could you plant outdoor March 1st (assuming you've already vegged them indoor to satisfactory size) and pull at the end of April without having to black them out? Or, will they revert to veg at some point because they recognize they days are getting longer, even though there's less than 14hrs of daylight at the end of April?

I leave a week from Saturday for Canada for 10 days. I must harvest before then and dry enough to ensure the crop doesn't spoil before I get home. Should I cut it now and do the initial drying and store it in some way, or get someone to water for me while I'm gone and harvest when I get home on the 25th? My roommate is reliable for watering but nothing else if I ask him.

Have him water them for you

Your concerns mean nothing. What do the plants want? Can they go ten days? Not with the person in charge, but with ripening? If they can go the distance without molding out, let them go.

I don't know I'm not experienced enough :) I think they'll make it if they get the water every 2-3 days. I don't want to worry about it though.

I don't think mold is an issue they're pretty well ventilated and there's lot of space now. I should note one branch sort of died on the vine and was darker and dryer than the rest but not really in bad shape, it just snapped under it's own weight :)

If you time it perfectly it might work, but the days are getting incrementally longer. The second day they're out there it'd be light just a little bit longer, so your window of fuckery would be fairly small.
This is all speculation, obviously. Many in here are quite a bit more knowledgeable on the subject.

Brokenlink and I both planted outside way too early this season, and the plants tried to flower in early spring. I replanted one of mine into my Phototron and went straight to a flower schedule and salvaged an ounce or so. Meh.
For the gals that stayed outside, the days grew longer it and reset their little clocks and they started trying to grow stem and leaf again but they lost a lot of ground. They had teeny flowers with wee hairs that never really developed.
HH has one of BL's abominations and it looked nice the last time he clicked a pic for us. I have the other one and left it outdoors and it seems to be coming along nicely in spite of me.

shouldnthave can you post some more

Yeah, sounds like it would screw them up, but I assume you kept feeding high N when they were trying to flower? I wonder if they'd have stayed in flower and done well if you switched to the low N high P flower feed schedule. Might be too risky.

Water, bruh. My plants can get with the program or fuck right the hell off. :laughing

I've grown without chemicals my whole life so it's difficult for me to get out of that habit. I have always considered it a weed that'll grow anywhere with minimal input and it's pretty much carried me through so far, but I think I'm going to re-read this entire thread and do things differently next round, even if I do grow outdoors. More soil prep beforehand, more monitoring and adding of nutes, etc.

Oh man, you should do it. They respond so well. You don't have to go all out with molasses/guano/kelp/humic acid/etc/etc to see the gains. If you have some in flower now, just get a quart of Age Old Bloom and feed once per instructions and I bet you'll see a difference.

Also, I'd feed regardless of the type of plant. This year I've been making an effort to throw any weed feed/tea/whatever leftovers on the apple trees, blueberry bushes and grape vine, they've never been this happy in the 4 years we've been here. Next year I plan to run a round of weed early and then try to go big on veggies using almost all the same products/techniques. Only organic stuff here.

Haha! I don't want to fill up the thread with my stuff, I'm just sticking to advise the best I can. If you guys want to see what I post online, you can always follow my IG, @40tonpress I TRY to post up twice a week at a minim. I always forget to take photos when cool shit is happening, and I try not to be too redundant. No idea how people like to look at rosin photos over and over. :laughing I've only been at it since July though, so not a ton of content.

Man, I feel like that plant should have blown up in there, but it stayed pretty small. Buds look good though. Hope to have some firsthand experience with my little indoor setup before too long.

For sure, definitely a success. What's next? Wanna work on an automated water/feed setup? I think it'd be pretty inexpensive, easy and fun for just a few plants. That's kind of next on my list, pickup some flood tables and build a little auto feed system.

That would be nice actually.

I can't decide if I should do 1-2 larger plants or 4 smaller ones.

Even though they're not as big as anticipated I probably should have staked the branches several have "Died on the vine" by breaking and then the weed starts self-drying. I cut those off for some early samples to dry.

The nice thing about a bigger plant is there's more flexibility with caring for it, but four smaller ones would be the way to go if you don't want to veg them for very long.

I kind of like the Floraflex. It has measure lines on it and several small holes to drip feed more evenly. All you'd need is the Floraflex, a little hose, the clips to hold the hose to the Floraflex, a 5g bucket, a pump and a timer. If you went with four plants, you'd just get a little piece of PVC and get some fittings to connect a 4-way bubbler, then some fittings to connect to a hose and then to the bucket.
