The Home Grower's Thread

Are there any strains you'd recommend I look into for my seeds?

ALso do you have a recommended feeding schedule? I have some for hydroponic (coco) but they recommend 100% H20 every second watering (PH balanced). Should I do that but add the nutes every watering or halve it?

I cut open the sacrificial bud and it's totally green on the inside, it's just a dried/dead set of flowers, not bud rot.

Yah didn't have to sacrifice it, just peal it back a little to look inside. Anyway, glad it was just damage.

As far as a feeding schedule, lets cross that bridge when you're closer.

Take a look at what's available. This is my favorite site to get new strains. https://www.seedsherenow.com/

Sorry I meant the one that I originally was cut off...it was all brown as noted but the inside was green. I didn't kill any good ones.

That really does look like bud rot. you have any more pics?

Nothing more than what I've shown you. Seems to be doing ok today. Doesn't need water. I've been upping the nutrients.

Like I said even inside the trimmed dead bud was green so I think it's not rot.

Shit, sorry i missed that part.. what strain is it again?

This one is Lemon OG Kush Autoflower the other is White Widow Autoflower, They're still wet today I seem to need to water them every 2-3 days.

It's about 12 ounces total. I wonder how much will be lost via drying. It's really more since some of it was harvested earlier.

Tons of trim for bubble hash or baked goods.

You'll lose about 3/4 from wet to dry.

Having done both types of trimming in my day, you'll do better hanging that on the stick in a room (closet, some small space) set at 60º, and 60% humidity for about 4-5 days. Then you put it into tubs (that fit the product, not huge) till 7-9 days has passed from the time you took it down. After that, then you trim it, and you'll have a MUCH better product. The reason why is that the flower will change shape as it dries, and the Chlorophyll of the fresh flower will get all over everything changing the smell and taste. If you leave it alone without trimming the starches can turn to sugars without being impeded. In a nutshell, dry trimming is far superior the wet trimming.

Thanks a lot! I'm away for 10 days I put them on a multi-tiered mesh hanging drying rack in the garage. My friend will come in 5 days and move them to the next stage...I'll leave him some containers. When I get back I'll re-trim them at the appropriate stage. It's 60% in the garage right now.

Much appreciated.

:thumbup Make sure you have an oscillating fan blowing on that. I say oscillating so it's not constant, and it churns the room too.

My roommate did a shitty job watering the autoflowers the soil was pretty dry when I got back. The plants I basically harvested, they got 2 oz each pre-dry. I trimmed them and they're drying. A lot of it got browned but it's not rot just dry leaves that burned from lack of water.

I got a new seedling going from a feminized seed:

Just going to do one mainlined plant in a 7 gallon and see how it goes. Will probably go to a Solo cup first and then an intermediate pot.

I totally get the first step of mainlining but after that I am not 100% certain I get what to do despite reading the article many times so I may need some advice in a few weeks.

Incidentally the dried and cured stuff I got from Brokenlink's plant is stellar. I got a vaporizer and it's incredibly tasty and really gets you super high off the vape.

So what's the rationale of progressively moving a plant to a larger container?

It helps prevent under/over watering. If you have a tiny plant in a large container it will feel heavy, and in turn you won't water it. Because the plants roots are small and in the top of the pot it may not reach the heavy water below before it's death. On the flip side, Say you do water it knowing it will need the water up top, but this creates a situation in the lower half of the pot that the plant can't venture into due to over saturation.

That's why you transplant several times over the life cycle of a plant when using pots. Imagine that the roots are roughly the same size as the plant above, and change pots when you can see that the plant no longer comfortably fits in the container it's in.

That said, once a plant it put into flower, never change its pot. It should already be in the pot it will live its days in even if it's transplanted the day it was set for flower.

Got it!

I just moved my seedling from a small solo cup sized flour pot to a 1 gallon.

Check out my friend's outdoor

He went away so it's dry but tons of bud! From the first photo I don't see any orange in the tricomes.
