The Home Grower's Thread

Thank you for the links and that first video was excellent. Not totally following the butter machine. It's just a mixer and a heater? Basically the same as what the other fellow did with the magnetic hot plate?

I've been working on a couple fruit wines and that air distiller would be fun for those too. Think that's gonna make it to the short list.

Yes. You basically set the temp and time. No need to grind it has a built in grinder/blade. You either add butter, alcohol or oil and set the time and temp and come back 2-8 hours later. It comes with a strainer bag and silicon glove.

The magnetic mixer is best for the alcohol tincture but not necessarily for butter so I decided on the magical butter and the electric still combo. I can't see myself using 3-4 oz of bud regularly for highly concentrated oil.

Went to the website and checked it out. Looks pretty sweet and nice for a bunch of other stuff. I could sell the wifey on that thing easy. Thanks again for turning me onto these.

Monetizing bastid!

Are you going to try any cbd strains next? I'd like to find a 1:1 clone.

I hear ya. Our county is at 50 square feet. They're not total nazi's about it if you're a little over, but more than that and they're knocking on doors.

Is that state law? You can basically ignore all laws except for the laws in your county or city, whatever is documented and most localized. Can't see SF being 1oz, but I dunno. One nice thing in my county is that plant count is ignored if you have a recommendation and they only go by square footage. Pack 100 plants into a 5x10 planter bed if you want to.

WHat I find hilarious is that you're allowed "6 plants" regardless of size but only allowed to have 1 oz of weed?

I think you're referring to the purchase limits for recreational users in one day/also the maximum you are able to carry upon your person. Rules become different for self-produced cannabis, including stipulations that require keeping anything in excess of an ounce at home with access limited via locks and other provisions - not much unlike firearms.

As much as you can grow with six plants - there is no limit. The state, (and feds for that matter,) is aware that home grows are the overwhelming source of gray-market cannabis that finds its way out of state so they will likely run a hard line on anybody who seems to be pushing the limits or taking advantage, (more than six plants, claiming what you have is self-grown when it's not, etc.,) but I digress.

I dunno, it looks like 1oz for recreational and 8oz for medical..

https://officeofcannabis.sfgov.org/consumer
https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/DO...ibrary/October 2017 Update/CDPH-Medicinal.pdf

And for medical it also says..

Best to have a card.

That is correct - in public those are the limits on possession.

It would be unreasonable to allow people to grow six plants and to expect them to only end up with no more than 28.5 grams.

(3) Notwithstanding paragraph (3) of subdivision (a) of Section 11362.1, a city, county, or city and county may completely prohibit persons from engaging in actions and conduct under paragraph (3) of subdivision (a) of Section 11362.1 outdoors upon the grounds of a private residence.

(4) Paragraph (3) shall become inoperative upon a determination by the California Attorney General that adult use of cannabis is lawful in the State of California under federal law, and an act taken by a city, county, or city and county under paragraph (3) is unenforceable upon the date of that determination by the Attorney General.

(5) For purposes of this section, “private residence” means a house, an apartment unit, a mobile home, or other similar dwelling.
(Amended by Stats. 2017, Ch. 27, Sec. 130. (SB 94) Effective June 27, 2017. Note: This section was amended on Nov. 8, 2016, by initiative Prop. 64.)

Here's the H&S code.

So how much pot can one possess legally at one's home?

In Santa Clara County (according to Ordinance NS-300.913 Section B26.5-5:G) it doesn't state an exact/specific quantity. Here is the wording:

G. A personal use cultivator may cultivate not more than six living plants at one
time. The living plants and any cannabis produced by the plants in excess of 28.5 grams must be secured in a locked space.

So yeah.... 30 lbs is cool so long as it is locked up! :cool:cool
