The Home Grower's Thread

Just placed an order with seedsman, we'll see how it goes. Ordered some Candida, LSD and Royal Gorilla.
 
Not entirely sure, but probably try to get one or two of them going straight away and then clone some for a small indoor grow. Ideally keeping a mother going into next year. I'd also like to use the Candida for oil or lotion or something. Hopefully they don't get seized and hopefully they sprout.

I've heard of some folks that want frozen uncured bud for making extracts.

Same as you guys, just give it away.

HH, you like the vape pen? Not sure to describe the high, other than 'incomplete'.
 
I use a Pax 3 and I find vaping it is the easiest method to get the most out of it. With a dab you get a huge amount in one hit which is not what I'm looking for.

I'd definitely be down to try and make my own butane extract but it's dangerous people blow up their houses. I'd also need a vacuum chamber and pump. I've seen people do it without any cooking or they do it outside with an induction cooker.
 
If I were to do it myself, I'd go bubble hash then rosin press. Can't go wrong with ice and heat from an HSE perspective.
 
So what's the deal with a rosin press and bubble hash?

Checked the tricomes, I'm starting the harvest process today and tomorrow.
 
Bubble hash machines use ice and water to extract trichomes. Cold temps makes them brittle and agitating the mix makes them break off. You do it all in varying degrees of micron filtering bags. You can get neat little washing machines, or do it by hand. The machines are inexpensive and work really well, but it depends on your volume. Then you stick it a rosin press, which is just a machine press with hot plates, to turn it into wax/shatter depending on temp/duration. All nice and healthy methods of extraction.

Are you water washing the dried flowers before oil extracting? If so, then no. I don't get the straight to heated oil methods. Ends up a very grassy final product, not in a good way.

Definitely "bud light' which how the HS kids hit them all day without being too obvious. Juul pens are the preferred intake method and many young/new users have never tried flower!

"The first plant weighs in at 14 oz wet." Expect 1.5-2 oz finished
