John Madden was talking about Peyton and was saying that he is very concerned about maintaining his legacy. Somebody who is that concerned about their professional career is also going to be concerned about their social perception.

Have you ever been in the south? They are not like around here or New England. Their hatred runs deep for a variety of things. I had to drive through there with a New Hampshire license plate and got quite a few mean looks.
 
So Sean Payton is suspended for 1 year without pay. Return of the Aints?
 
holy smokes, i didn't think the nfl was going to come down that hard on payton, or even williams. i thought maybe a few games for payton and maybe the season for williams, tops. goodell is not fucking around.

I can agree with that.

I also think that he's a very smart and complex guy and it wouldn't be just one factor that went into his decision. He had many options and I'm sure that he considered all the variables with all of the options. Some eliminations were probably easier than others, Miami was probably a no-brainer for him! :laughing

He shouldn't fuck around with Williams!

And, from a business standpoint, it would have been stupid for him to go light on Williams because as a business, you don't want your main attractions knocked out of the games and perhaps even most of the season because of some self-serving jackass putting a bounty on their heads.

goodell should probably do the jets fans a favor and suspend their front office. a 4th and a 6th for t-bown right on the heels of giving sanchez that idiotic contract. does anyone there know what the fuck they are doing?

draft night just became a lot more interesting. wonder how many jets fans will spontaneously combust? that is going to be some good tv.
