The Official 2012 NFL Thread

The KC/ATL game was pretty entertaining for awhile until the Chiefs just decided to implode. When will people realize Romeo isn't a good coach.

It's not Romeo's fault that Matt Ryan has two targets at wideout with Julio Jones and Roddy White. :laughing

Falcons passing game looks rather solid.

Don't forget where the guy they fired ended up, and they didn't look too good, either....:laughing

No kidding. Last year was the extreme of "3rd and 2? PASS!!11!". Now it's 2nd and 12? RUN!!!11!!" :facepalm

It wasn't only that. After unable to score in the 3rd, it's almost like they ran out of ideas. "Oh shit. We scripted 40 plays. Not the first 40, but ALL 40. Now what do we do?"

NFL RedZone = footballgasm

solid game by the 9ers. won every facet of the game (even the bad-calls-by-the-refs). No doubt who the better team was.

god. damned. Peyton. this is no good at all.

great weekend for bay area sports. too bad we still have the Raiders to go...three guesses as to how badly they'll look.

I was a little more bewildered by some of LeBeau's defensive calls, but really, I think it was just Manning doing what Manning does best....

It was worth watching Troy scare the hell out of him, though.

Now if only he really had gone over the top, brought a wrench with him and tweaked those bolts in Manning's neck.

:laughing

SMike, was BA getting fired worth it? :p

So the 49ers franchise record for most consecutive passes without an interception is not held by Joe Montana or Steve Young, as of yesterday it's held by Alex Smith? DAYUM.

I don't know. Frustrated fan is frustrated. Either way it wasn't a happy course.

The lack of an Offensive line won't be successful in a run-based attack. I think that Redman was a joke, they should have started with Dwyer and ended with him.

I love the use of Heath. That was a great surprise that I think is 3 years over due.

Ben is still holding the ball too long, but he makes plays. I just don't think they are enough to justify the sacks. Last night I counted 5 throw-aways and 2 plays breaking out of the pocket and 3 sacks. Not really a great set.

Defensively, missing Clark was huge. Not only because it changed the way that Polamalu plays, but I think the replacements suck. I hate Mundy and Keenan Lewis. Keenan was screwed on one call, but he was also out of position a lot.

In General, the game was what I feared. It justified my week 1 anxiety. Being on the road in the altitude against Peyton where he had a chip isn't a recipe for success. But I don't think we made enough adjustments through out the game to win. And I have no idea what Ben saw when he threw that pick 6.

Either way, I can't wait to see them in 2 weeks.

Completion/TD % included? :laughing

OWW. Major Buttwhipping. Flacco looked great. I wasnt expecting to go into Baltimore and win on Monday night in the Season Opener, but I wasnt expecting to get bent over like the Steelers did last year in game one. Hopefully the Bengals arent as bad as they looked for most of the game tonite.

Great win by the 9ers. That team looks legit. Congrats.

Manning and Denver have to be the clear favorites to win the AFC West. They looked great.

Wait, what did we have to do with anything? That was a cheap and useless shot against the Steelers. You could have easily said "We got bent over like we usually do, since we are the Bitch of the AFC North", and been just as accurate.

Its not a cheap shot. Its reality. Baltimore crushed the Steelers week one at home last year. They did it tonite to the Bengals. Sorry if reality bothers you so much. Go change your panties. The Steelers ended up having quite a good year last year. I can only hope the Bengals do this year as well. Everyone is looking up at the Ravens right now. The only team with a win week one in the AFC North.

Bullshit call against the Raiders. McFadden's elbow was clearly over the first down marker!

Dolphins only one game out of first place, fuck yeah! :laughing
:rofl

What did Chris Berman say? "we believed in the new attitude for 14 minutes" referring to the "end the bullshit" ethic that was being touted in the Raider's locker-room.

The Defence was stout against run. Offence needs to have a weapon other than McFadden to divvy up the workload.
