The Official 2012 NFL Thread

Hate to say it but the 9ers look like the class of the NFL after Week 2. No one is playing as solid all around. Great Defense, A Smith playing really well. Balanced offensive. Harbaugh seems to be the savior.

they def. look like world beaters as of week 2.

But so did Green Bay last year. and as it turned out, a 9-7 team won it all so, don't hand them the Lombardi yet.

They aren't even alone atop their division...

(But yes, the 9ers look like the most balanced team on offense, and that defense is just awe inspiring....)

It's just a real treat, as a fan of hard-nosed NFL defenses, to see a team go out from the 1st tackle on and not just hit, but hit with purpose. To not only tackle but to send a message to the other team, that win or lose: they're in for a world of hurt (with clean hits). It's exciting, really. kudos to a damn fine defense.

The last team I want to see win the lambardi is the freaking 9ers. I'd even rather Rapesburgh got it again. Not too worried yet. The 9ers choked in the playoffs last year to a 9-7 team. AT HOME. It's a long season.

A 9-7 team? You mean the soon to be and still current Superbowl Champions? :laughing

LOL, same 9-7 team that was a 10-6 team that beat the 18-0 AFC contenders. Probably regular season record matters in the NFL Playoffs unless you're facing the New York Giants, in which case, the worse their regular season record was, the more you better hold your shorts tight. NYG, None more clutch.

That's probably the best way to describe SF, they don't simply tackle you, they *pound* you.

gee, if a guy with the skills like Hartline can single-handedly shred one half of the secondary, I just_can't_wait to see what Wallace and Brown do.:rolleyes

Hartline is producing nicely in the new WCO they are running. Soon as the Fins hired the Pack's offensive coordinator at the end of last season, people were saying Hartline could be a Fins version of Nelson. I think I posted the same thing at the start of this thread, then Hartline promptly injured his calf and missed the entire training camp and preseason. :x

Clean is OK, not cheap dicks like Tampa Bay.

Pffft you play til the game clock reaches zero. If they can time it right, you can bum rush the center who will fall back into the QB and cause a fumble...strategery!

Cheap. Shot.

If it were 42-7, sure. Not when you're only down 7 pts and still have a chance to tie or win the game by causing a fumble. And the Giants have screwed up this clock-running thing before. :laughing

If you wanna take a knee, then take a knee, but I see no reason why the defense has to lay there like bitches and take it. I thought what Tampa did was fine. I'd like to see more teams do it.

I am well aware. The posted video is WHY the tradition of taking a knee was started in the NFL. Do you think all the announcers and all the players protesting this behavior as unprofessional are making shit up? There is a gentleman's way and a scoundrels way to play the game. Tampa appears interested in joining notorious scumbags like the Cowboys, Lions and Saints as those who put winning above mutual respect and sportsmanship. It is not illegal, but it does say a great deal about the character of a fan who has chosen their side.

Mike Golic, Cris Carter, Ron Jaworski, Joe Namath and Mike Ditka to name a few ALL said the same thing...play til the game is over.

Perhaps you've heard of those guys? :laughing

Do any other sports "quit" the game with time on the clock when there is still a chance for the other team to win?

Best kneel down in history with about 15 seconds left in the game. :laughing

As per usual, most scumbag team in history with the most degenerate fans to match...

You have got to be fucking kidding me. Giving the middle finger to all things Dallas cowboys should be civic duty. You can hate the eagles all you want, but not for twisting the knife in the cowgirls.

Fuck the Cowboys.
