Thanks for Steve Bono. Sort of.

Tom Coughlin has informed his coaching staff that the Giants are making a head coaching change, source tells ESPN.

Rich Gannon was a great FA pickup from being essentially ignored for his contributions in KC.

Still can't figure out why he was so "well traveled", he won just about everywhere he played except for the year he was with the Redskins. :dunno

It would probably be bigger surprise if they kept him... he even had his whole family at the game yesterday for one last time.

I wanna hear more Trent Dilfer stories. Nyuk. Did he play for the Chiefs too? Before or after? Everytime I see that guy on the tv, I have a bit of an internal chuckle about the mad, mad, mad world of NFL.

Hmmm...Wonder if Johnny Football will get a spot on Inside the NFL????

I'm officially a Chiefs fan for the next month. :party

I want Smith to get SB MVP and fucking win it for KC, in Jed's house. :twofinger

I'm not bitter... nope... not bitter at all.... :laughing

Not sure Baalke is all to blame for the state of personnel in SF but sure as fuck Jed is meddling too much and needs to sit on his hands and stfu

I also think whether or not Tomsula is a good coach, he's still getting a raw deal

I mean, he's getting paid a ton of money to not coach, and he can catch on somewhere else anyway.

yeah...not feeling sorry for Tomsula at all. I could really use 13M to do a shitty job for one year out of four.

Yeah, it is already posted out there. The Old Man has stepped down. The official press release is that he approached ownership about it and decided it is what was best for the team. I'm not sure I buy that, but he is one of the great ones and of course we want to give him every opportunity to save face. If Jerry Reece survives this I am going to be pissed though. He is a TERRIBLE GM as far as drafting and contracts are concerned.

I didn't get to watch the press conference with Jed, just hearing bits and pieces. But I remain underwhelmed and depressed about this leadership situation. It's getting unhealthy how much I despise York and Baalke and their dynamic. But bottom line is that its not about the team, it's about their power. York is such an uncomfortable little man.

LOL, that is from back in September, dawg. :laughing

We are going to miss him. Mean Grandpa is one of the best coaches we have ever had, he has done great things and quite frankly, this is more on the rotten roster and the GM than on Coach, but cest la vie. My Hope is they put McAdoo or Spags in place as the HC to maintain system conitunuity and now that they have let Coughlin exit with grace, they slash Reese for being an awful GM, so we can build up this roster into something with a run game and defense again.

So you don't want to take what he actually said and the team is going to do into consideration, you just don't like him.

lol.

No, incorrect. I see what they did with the Harbaugh situation, I see they played hooky on Sunday, I see they did separate press conferences (York and Baalke) and what I see is that an uncomfortable, insecure but nevertheless entitled wealthy young man cannot be trusted to run a sports franchise anywhere but into the ground. He has been mea culpin since last year. Things just get worse and worse. Who in their right mind would work for these dudes?

My reaction to his person informs my prediction for the team. I know he "admitted" mistakes, but until he resigns, OR gets ride of Baalke, I see no future for actual success of the football team. It SEEMS to be the combo of the two of them that is unworkable. Hope I am wrong, really. But I truly don't sense that he thinks he is wrong. I think he thinks he is unlucky.

Inherited wealth, man....it creates some strange creatures.

You literally said you didn't watch it, but okay.

In other news, sounds like Payton is deciding between SF and NO. Rumor is the cost would be SF's 2nd round draft pick if he left the Saints.

Personally, I think SF would be nuts to trade for Sean Payton. They need the draft picks too desperately. He isn't that epic a coach for a roster depleted team like the Niners to trade away valuable roster resources to get him.
