The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

Re: Chargers and/or Rams. I understand Los Angeles is a huge and important media market. I understand the NBA and MLB do well there but their business model is different because of big money from local market TV contracts.

Can anyone explain why the NFL thinks having a team in the Los Angeles market will work this time?

I wonder the same thing. BUt the older model of stadiums were actually just for enjoying the game itself. New stadiums have a lot more side stuff going on, attractions and such. My guess is that the huge population base means more concerts and other commercial activities. You just watch, despite the betrayal of the Rams to St. Louis, there will be a huge Rams "museum" just like at Levi's.

The assistant coaches curse like a sailor when volcanic opposing players (Pacman for example) get near their sideline. Everybody talks shit to everybody, it's the NFL.
!

You're wrong.

I'd hate to find out in the museum that Warren Beatty really didn't play QB for the Rams.

You don't hear all that cursing when the NFL boyz wear mics? Bleep bleep bleep goes the censor button.

The wildly undisciplined Bengals could use some sensitivity training with Coach Parcells. He'd tell them to stop wearing Huggies under their pants. :p

Coaches do not scream obscenities and verbally abuse players from the opposing teams during the games. It doesn't happen. Unless you're Joey Porter. It doesn't happen.

from the internet, "The Browns have now beaten the Niners twice in the space of a month."

Here's a fun fact I was reading today. In the past 5 years, including 2 in San Francisco, Alex Smith is 49-21-1. He is winning 70%. :wow

After all the A. Smith supporting I did back when the Crapernick change over was happening, I like to read that.

I hate the Chiefs. But I would find it funny of Smith takes them to the Super Bowl and wins. Then gives a big "fuck you" middle finger towards the Niner's owner's box.

Would be cool for him.

He wasn't able to do it in SF. So what?

Yeah, Carson Palmer comes to mind. I hope the Cards make it all the way frankly. He doesn't have to give the finger to anyone, but he has been proven to be an outstanding NFL QB.

I mean they made it farther without Smith than with him, but ok.

Palmer proved he was an outstanding QB the first year he started in Cincinnati. Anyone denying that he's been a great QB is either ignorant or just not paying attention.

Who's to say that they wouldnt have been even better had they kept Smith? Frankly as a passing offense they couldnt have gotten much worse. Its a legitimate argument that Smith might have changed everything about the 9ers fortunes had Kaepernick not replaced him.

.

The Raider time comes to mind. I kept watching the games and going through this mental calculus of trying to figure out why this guy who seemed really good was unsuccessful, insofar as fault.

The 49ers wouldn't have beaten the Ravens in the superbowl with Smith. It was only another incredibly-convenient power outage that allowed them to have a chance in that game.

He was really good for the Raiders in between the 20's, but once it came down to the red zone, he (and the WRs) just couldn't get it done.

I think they win that rigged SB with Smith over Kaep.

Hoping for KC / AZ super bowl that way I'm happy no matter who wins.
