The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

Interesting the team that seems to be in the lead for signing Smith is the Giants.

And here I thought the Giants were the paragons of virtue and respect in the NFL...at least according to Eldirty that's the case. They're going to pick up a bad boy like Smith?

do you think it's possible the 9ers tank the season to get a highly-rated QB in the 2016 draft?

anyways, I was stoked to see football on last night. even if it was the scrubs playing. football's back, baby!

No, I dont believe that kind of shit exists. Those guys want to win as much as possible, they just wont win much. :laughing

My guess is that Smith wont be allowed in a game until atleast 2016, so anyone signing him now had better be prepared for that.

We will teach him to be an honest church going fella. He needs the kind of wholesome responsible environment we can offer. :teeth

...and as much as our offense is rock star right now, the Defense situation is kind of desperate...

What makes you think that? I thought the NFL didn't hand out suspensions until court cases were complete? He could play the entire year and not get a suspension until 2016.

I was telling my friend that the Eagles should pick him up. I said "You don't want Smith in your division...unless he's on your team."

If I were a betting man I'd say he ends up going to the Cowboys.

I'm not sure why you're under that impression, but its not true. Smith will definitely be suspended for half a season minimum over this latest arrest. I'm guessing its more like the whole year, but his appeal process might give him some games back. No matter who signs him, he wont suit up till Late November.

He didn't get suspended by the league the last time he was in trouble until after all the court cases were settled. That's how I come to this conclusion. Maybe you have better information than I do. Maybe not.

He isn't a heinous enough criminal to be an Eagle. He needs to murder rape a pack of underage nuns or some shit first. Usually the Eagles have all their players give AIDS to grandmas as part of training camp, so he will miss the initiation into the brotherhood of the green machine, which means during the regular season the player can only use him for fecal play and smoking the colons of endangered species out of his ass crack.

Interesting perspective, Eldirty. I take it you have a strong dislike for the Eagles then?

The league isn't required to wait until an arrested players legal situation has resolved before they can suspend said player. With someone with multiple arrests such as Smith, he'll get suspended sooner than later.

Well, I guess indirectly I do. I have a basic appreciation for human decency, which is essentially the opposite of the Shitbirds.

;)

The Eagles-Giants rivalry is pretty interesting. They first played each other in 1933, which the Giants win. Giants have a slight lead in the head to head and have won more SuperBowls, but interestingly the Eagles have won the Division more. I'm sure you already know this shit.

MORE Superbowls?

HOW ABOUT SOME?

It is amazing what 80 solid years of cross divisional hate can build when the other guys are nationally known as people who actively strive to be the most terrible people in all of sports fans. Awful behavior is actually competitive for them.

Doubtful. I think they will be better than the 2 win team a lot of folks seem to be expecting. I think Kaep will be good enough this year to make the Niners suffer under him for another couple years of ups and downs. I feel like a few years of nightmarish purgatory are in the future for San Jose's red and gold.

Santa Clara, mang.

Look at the other three defenses in the NFC West...absolute monsters! Rams D-line is downright scary, maybe best in the entire NFL. Seahawks' D is Super Bowl worthy two years in a row. Cardinals had no QB half the season and *still* their dominant D carried them to the playoffs.

Going to be a very rough year for the Niners. You don't often see a good team self-destruct like this, incredible. From Super Bowl favorites to worst team in their division in only one season, wow.

They booed Santa and killed HitchBOT, I'm comming around to Eldirty's way of thinking RE Eagles fans

Well that's a bullshit quote...the back-stabbing problems happened when the Niners were STILL WINNING....don't forget they were one play away from the Super Bowl. Actually you could say they were one play away from winning one Super Bowl, and one play away from returning to another. But that would be Woulda Coulda.

The problems didn't happen *after* they began losing. The problems happened *before* they began losing, the 2014 season hasn't even started yet and it's rumored that GM Baalke is hinting that Harbaugh will be fired. Total "team cancer" move, which set the stage for their terrible 2014 season. Yeah that's a great idea, your coach just took you to the SB once, and NFC Championship three years in a row, here's a new season beginning, and you're talking about firing him? Good luck with that, Baalke. You poked a hole in that ship, then watched it sink. It's all on you.

NFL GM's are a dime a dozen, but incredible coaches like Harbaugh are very rare. Big massive mistake, Niners, you backed the wrong horse. Still, those luxury boxes in the new Santa Clara stadium have likely increased team profits, and that's all that matters, right?

:hand Santa Clara IS San Jose, the same way Brisbane and San Bruno is San Francisco. San Jose is the biggest, richest, city in Northern California. Everything South of San Mateo and Fremont is San Jose. ;)

I think you're right though, the NFC West has been evolving to be even more competitive while the Niners have devolved. I suspect very few of their wins this year will come in Division.

And Fred, they didn't just BOO Santa, they pelted him with snowballs too. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/what_happened/The_Santa_Eagles_Snowball_Attack.html
