It was lame and of course the instigator was not punished at all despite a history of baiting.

He is one of the cool kids.

No one has been banned because they were baited. They were banned because of their response to being baited. Also note that note that not many people have been suspended 10 times.

OK. I've made a mistake. I apologize to Climber for the mistake and inaccuracies in my original post. I was wrong.

In the interest of transparency I'll leave my post intact, but post the correction here. Xeforo handles suspensions din a different manner, and the Mod List Of Suspensions wasn't updated with this 11th suspension (or the next one: 12th)

Another moderator pointed me to the referenced post and i was able to locate the subsequent suspension. The offending post was in the Kitchen Sink, and the topic was road conditions. The offending post: "Your daughter is full of shit" and it was posted 4.5 years ago. It was your 11th suspension. You are correct that the offender was not suspended. The 'Sink has always been more loosely moderated for most content. We still suspend for name calling though, and that's what took place this time.

Agree with your first line. However, I'm curious on how people got to that point and why they think like they do.
 
Try to remember NOT to respond to obvious trolls & rage bait......
if someone says, "gays should be killed" or "blacks are inferior" etc, DO NOT respond !

Those kind of people are so far gone, that there is nothing you can say, no insult strong enough
to inflict the kind of pain that they deserve as a response .

Those aren’t the droids I worry about. The more dangerous ones believe what you said but, are savvy enough to walk the easily led down a rosier sounding parallel path. Those who blow dog whistles have gotten really good at it.
 
Honest question, is this political? To me it belongs in the “faith in humanity” thread. To me, it reaffirms my bead rock belief the WE CAN MAKE THINGS BETTER WHEN WE TRY. Just look at the before. I think if we are here for anything, it's just to make whatever we can a little better than it was for who ever comes next.

 
Our environmental problems are not political, nor the causes, but discussing legislation and particularly when legislation is used to complain about politicians is where it's definitely political.

You weren't arround back in my early years, my objections to the gulf war made me a lot of enemies and I was under constant attack from a bunch of people who harassed me no matter what I posted. Back then, the Right was the majority in the KS, which may surprise some later people. Sometimes I got tired of them nipping at my heels constantly and bared my teech.

If my memory is correct I was once banned or corralled into not posting due to a comment I made in a thread started by a long ago BARF drop out.

Those people weren't necessarily right-wing. Even a lot of Dems allowed themselves to become fake patriots, "I coulda shoulda joined the military" types who believed that supporting every decision we made in the Middle East would make them appear more patriotic and macho. It was pure peer pressure bullshit.

I got banned from Polisink 10+ yrs ago for mentioning Trump in the KS, which was supposed to be only a 30 or 60 day ban, but conveniently it was never turned off, and I was too proud to ask to get back in 🤷‍♂️ :laughing
