I give the polisink reincarnation 6 months at best until Dennis has to step in again and get rid of it.

I would disagree in concept.
The first run lasted years. This time problem users will be expunged more quickly I believe.

I was all about chances and self correction. Did not work out as I hoped. That will not be the case in P-II.

I would think a few people being removed will send a message that mean dads signature proudly proclaims.

I'm not sure any of that will be necessary. If the KSP is to be largely one sided as I've been told, there won't be differences of political value and thus, shouldn't be much strife. It may be one of the more tamer places on BARF without opposing opinions. I never saw this as the solution till now.

I personally think the PoliSink forum was an awesome resource to find and consolidate information. Postings are vetted by the BARFhive so were largely credible. Other views are great, but that has been problematic in the past. I assume we haven risen above that.

We are going to reinstate the subforum with a little different management. Forum moderation can be a very taxing chore hence the closure that occurred.

In the new PoliSink, BARF terms of service, TOS, will still apply. Posting the source of material is a good thing for everyone as are the other elements of the TOS.

Management format, on the other hand, will be different. Butch, me, is going to moderate lightly in lieu of the usual mod discussions and voting that we do throughout the BARF.

I will leave the encouragement of good behavior up to you all. Pointing out undiplomatic commentary is encouraged. Diplomatically, of course.

I will try to visit at least once a day. If you want to report a post do it to me directly. It would better to air issues with PoliSink membership.

By moderating lightly I mean that if someone can’t figure out how to be polite, a discreet warning or two will be issued. If someone still can’t figure it out they will be banned.

We all know that it is easy to be polite in lieu of antagonizing others. We need to cooperate to have this unique subforum.

We are going to start from scratch; everyone wanting to participate will have to apply be admitted to the private forum again. Drop your request in this thread to gain access.

Thanks everyone. I think we kinda know each other from our posting histories. I look forward to enjoying the future summary of the pertinant news that only the PoliSink can produce. That, and your commentary of what we might do with that information. Plus the humor.

I hope we can enjoy each other’s poli-banter again. If it becomes a hassle the PoliSink will go away again.

I am all for it and look forward to avoiding it, lol. As someone who actually works with Politicians and Government agencies to effect meaningful change, the armchair QB work from people utterly unwilling to understand shit you try to explain to them is aggravating beyond belief.

Like those guys who look shit up on Web MD and argue with their Doctor.

Since I'm alive today because I argued with my doctor, I'd be happy to debate you on the subject. Politicians? Not so much. After a lifetime of dealing with men in power, football coaches, law enforcement, fire departments, banking, etc., I came to call empowered men, that group of womanizing, bigoted, alcoholics. Then, through banking, we met politicians. Found them to be the apex predators of the species.

Over the course of a lifetime, met brilliant exceptions to my rule. Wish I had met some during my early days of football coaching. But life has gone darn well, no complaints.

But doctors? They are limited by their time crunch to research me. I'm focused only on me. Give me time, I'll do a bit better job of managing...me. YMMV.
