The ignorant masses using the internet to look up stuff, they shouldn’t even be allowed to vote.
 
It’s a sort of mansplain situation. Guy works in the thick of things offers unpopular opinion based on actual experience, opinion is dismissed and opinions follow explaining why he’s wrong.
 
I used to get worked up on the political talk before the pol-sink was created. When the OG pol-sink opened I asked to join but was never granted access (That I can tell, maybe I'm wrong?). I actually came to enjoy the lack of pol-talk in the sink. I had good, normal, super interesting interactions with many of the folks I'd argued politics with before the change. I calmed down. But sometimes there were references to pol-sink posts and I wanted to see what was up. So thanks for setting this up.

Big different between politics on a municipal level impacting a small group of people vs the federal government and its impact on everyone in on this forum plus the entire globe.

The plan is to reopen Political Talk 2.0 on December 17th. The exact time will be based on my ability to break away from my real life and populate the access list.

I want to open it up for everyone at the same time not just 2-3 people as my life allows.

I think what may be happening:

"people" don't exactly know what you do, and you more often than not come to a topic, like 5 days late --perhaps that affects the perception of the valuable information you purportedly provide (and which I must admit I often skip-over, due to the delay)

... as for the access, just like with other people : "if ya don wan it, dont read it!". This is LITERALLY the better solution / to have a separate forum -- if you cannot ignore people who start threads, in your own section.

PS BTW: here's an example where not being anonymous helps that_guy's posts to be taken more seriously... so funny.
