Yes, if your talking about the 2005 MotoGP at Laguna, I was there also.
Not to one-up your story or anything but my friend Peter Johnson was in charge of starting one or more of those bikes on display. Honda had brought them over from there museum in Japan.

It was either the 125/5 or the 250/6. But on one occasion he let me blip the throttle once or twice, ever so gently. That was a treat for me, for sure ! (but deafly loud, but I like loud, as was reported some 45 pages ago.. )

Hmmmm,...This story coincidentally, also involves the blipping of ones throttle... I guess, call me "Blippy".dam'it !

Nice. I touched the bike (was tempted not to wash my hand for a week but thought better of it), but I certainly didn't get to blip it.

I think my experience was earlier than 2005. And I know for sure the bikes weren't Honda's. These were owned primarily by Team Obsolete. And "Oh my....", look what they have for sale: http://www.teamobsolete.com/stable.html

Here's a bit about Team Obsolete: http://www.teamobsolete.com/about.html

Probably safe to show the video now that the bike's been painted and the leathers and helmet replaced.

It's been shown over 100,000 times.... :nerd

If you can swing it, swing it!

I can't believe someone is complaining about a unicorn stomping around the twisties.

You're lucky to have seen/ heard her.

I've seen plenty of Harlies that cost more than a Desmo. I don't like hearing them rev it up during breakfast either.

Thats it, Im buying a set of desmosedicci plastics and zip tying them to my old ninja 250.

I will then proceed to do wheelies and burnouts every weekend at alices.

Don't forget to remove the muffler.

FWIW...I was at Alices on the above mentioned date...
That bike sounded like pure sex......
I just had to say it.....but I was'nt eating at that exact
moment in time and I dont mind loud bikes.
a1scoot:teeth

and Blippy Damnit knows blip talent when he hears it :twofinger

Never really been a fan of the whole exhaust thing. Them desmosedici's don't sound all that great to me, when I hear bikes like that my first thought is 'dude something must be wrong with that engine'. As for noise, my big ugly green dirt bike makes more, so he's hardly got anything interesting going on :thumbdown

Hi-perf cars can sound pretty amazing, esp. lambos and F1 and such, but it seems to me like all the motorcycle race-y exhausts sound like carp.

While you're at it, don't bother using a ninja. Why not something like this?

I can just picture one of those covered in desmosedici bits. In my head it looks sort of like the wolf hiding in the sheepskin...
