Tomahawk Tire Test

If the 208 replicas were 150$
shit
will the sport touring replicas be 75$???
Cuz I'm ALL OVER IT if so!!!

Leonard,

This maybe a lot to ask..but how about a long term follow-up when you're ready?

400 Miles

I now have 400 miles on these tires. They are working great. They warm up fast and stick well and they track nicely. I have ridden Mines, Del Puerto, Redwood, Calaveras, and Palomares on them. They work as well as any tires I have ridden. They are more sticky than the Bridgestones I just took off and at least as good as the Sportecs I rode before. I would never know that these are remoulds or that the carcass had been previously used if nobody told me. In my opinion they are good sport tires and would be worth the money if they cost the same as other sport tires. I will see how many miles I get from them. So far they are wearing normally.

400? Get out and ride that bike man. I got 300 since I picked up up my bike Friday evening, and I am at work today! :D

Got a little new bike fever do we? :) 300 miles already. :wow Keep it under control. You are half way to answering the age old question: which comes first the inital service or the insurance estimate. :laughing So where is your report on first riding impressions? Sitting around work with nothing to do and what is your excuse? :confused Just so you feel better, I rode again today. :teeth I now have about 600 miles on the tires and they are working just great. This was my third ride after putting them on last Saturday. Did Palomares, Calaveras and Redwood both ways. I would like a full report of your miles including roads ridden and how the bike performs. No freeway riding stories please or you will get minus points. :nerd

Alright, I will write up my impression in the thread I have with pictures already.

I am only doing so because you went a couple hundred more in a short enough time span :D

By the way, I average 1000 miles a month on the Buell (though I won't anymore), and I live 5 miles from work :D

I'm glad you liked the tires. I finished in 3rd place on a set of Tomahawk Tires this weekend at Sears in the supermoto race. I started somewhere around 20th.

and of course they don't make an 18 rear...

now I hate my FZR :(

I have about 1400 miles on them now. They are holding up about as well as other sport tires. No complaints. Since I am riding all chip seal roads I don't expect high milage.

Sorry to inform me of what? I am talking about riding down country roads at a sporting pace. Not about a top rider trying to get the last shred of performance on a race track because he is being paid to write a report. These tires cost $152 delivered not $350 like some more sticky tires. I would have no problem taking them to the track and having a good time on them. They worked as well as other sport tires for me and held up as well. I would be very surprised if many riders have the level of skill of the riders who write for MCN or appreciate some of the differences in tires. I have seen people on sport touring tires smoking your average sport bike rider. I found them to be more sticky than the B010 and as least as sticky as the SportTecs. And they are plenty sticky for Mines Road. Why don't you do your own test and see how they work for you?

Leonard, thanks for the thread~ i was just considering new tires within these months... good deal dude~ :thumbup

So... why is there all these different kinds?
"RACE STANDARD COMPOUND"... "SPORT TIRE".. i'm looking for ones that i can just ride on the roads.. i'm not a track man :hand at least not yet. :cool so i'm guessing "SPORT TIRE" will do..

and the #s i'm guessing are my tire sizes.. GSXR600...hmm.. :confused

//--------------------------------------
so looks like not many people are for them color ones ehh. :green

there aren't many colored tires here in vegas on bikes.. dunno if i want to stand out that much.. but then again.. being the first few would be kinda neat.. i'm sure the ladies would see it as eye candy. :teeth

They cost me $152 for both including tax and shipping.
That's not bad, I might get some for the BMW... I looked at the yellow tires (to match my riding suit; I have no shame) but they're as much as some MeZ6s.

Is that the size of my rear tire :confused
If so, that stinks that I can't even try out these tires on my fzr600. I'll have to give them a call to check.
