Triumph Daytona 675 sound off

Hey ASADO,

Nice mods!

How do you like the Aero Screen? Is it worth the money? I'm looking at taking a 1000 mile trip comming up in September and thought it might be worth adding on the bike.

Thanks,

Aaron

I almost bought one but couldn't get the salesman into a price I could handle...

Beautiful bikes though!!

Have you considered getting a used 675 instead? I saw one on CL a few weeks ago with a decent asking price.

Just got mine back two weeks ago after having the Arrow exhaust put on. What a freakin difference!!!:teeth I've had it for a year now. Had a problem with the CPU going out. Other than that.......Perfect. Here's a not so good pic.

Did you get the full system? are you running the stock map? Thinking of ditching the TBR for a full Arrow.

Yeah, I got the full system and had it re-mapped. It weighs about 10lbs (if even that) pipes, can and all and also adds about 8hp (not dynoed yet). The system sounds unbelievable, drops a significant amount of weight, adds top end like a mutha and looks pretty good. Funny thing is I actually like the looks of the Jardine slip-on better but the sucker is kind of heavy especially compared to the Arrow.

I'm gonna post this link up on daytona675.net and let them know that the 675 riders out here have some seriously nice looking/performing bikes. Some of you guys have done some REALLY nice mods on your bikes:applause . Funny thing is, I didn't think that the 675 could look much better than stock (except for the license plate holder but that's just my preference) but you guys have gone to freakin' town. Keep it up and hopefully I'll get to meet some of you out on the road.

Lucky1, where the hell did you get that rear hugger/fender? That's excactly what I've been looking for to keep the underside of the tail section clean. Come on, give it up. I neeeeeds to know.:laughing

Suspension/ geometry is finicky. ride is harsh and tends to tuck the front easy.
The 675 suffers from a lack of trail which causes problems mid to late corner. I measured one for Dave Moss when they first came out and we found the only way to rectify this was with new triples. I've got a similar problem with a Hayabusa that the owner likes to take to the track. In order to speed up the steering he fitted a longer shock which steepened the rake but shortened the trail too much. We're using '05 636 triples and a bit of machining to rectify the trail. Should be fun when it's done:teeth

hey rob, when you guys going to be finished with the fork mod? and what about mass production? a new triples kit. hmmmm. xmas is coming ya know. make us proud. :laughing

.

'07 Red; LSL framesliders (no drilling holes required), pazzo shortys, Woodcraft case covers, flush mount front LED front turn signals, D650 rear view mirrors (you can actually see when the CHP is behind you), Dunlop Qs, TOR exhaust, GPR stabilizer.

IMO, this is one great motorcycle. The bike feels so light and flickable it's part of you. You don't really steer it; you just think about turning and it happens. It's magical. Personally, I don't think it needs raised clip-ons. I bought some, but have decided not to install them. So, if anyone wants them, PM me; there's a deal to be had. :teeth

Ok so now I'm wanting one. :)
How is the seat height? I'm 6ft with a 31ish inseam.

seat height is 32" and change...

does anyone have the jardin exhaust for the 675? it looks very nice... just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with it

Whoa!! nice bike... i was at ACE motors about 3 months ago, and almost got a black one. Test rode one once, and it was breakfast!!!

picked up my 675 in february used with 160 miles on it . guy bought it and the seat hight was to high for him . he ended up dropping at light decided the bike wasn't for him sold it to me . i turned it into a race bike .
so far i added ohlins rear shock , GBRacing case protectors, sharkskin body work and new perellies race compond ( not shown in picture) . plan on adding race tech valveing , exhaust ,and tuneboy or power comander. like most bikes the suspension is this bikes Achilles heel not enuff rebond adjustments in the shock and the forks are little on the slow & soft side . i know i've been having problems with hydrolic lock in the forks ( basicaly the bike doesn't want to lean as far as it should ), feels like its bottoming out and wanting to stand the bike up . worked with dave moss on set up ( he knows hes stuff ) during the last race and got a lot better porformance out of them . but i think i'll still revalve them for even better proformance . love the motor on this bike pulls hard coming out the corners almost like a liter bike .

If I had a 675 I'd be all over this info :thumbup

Well from reading various articles on the net and Triumph675.net, it seems as if its a great bike with a long list of 'minor' issues.

Seriously, any Triumph motorcycle is going to get flack over "issues". 100 years of history carries baggage (people still wondering if they leak oil, or if the electrics are flaky). And any time you stray very far from the Big4, there's a terra incognito factor involved. Based on my own 27K miles on my '02 Speed Triple, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to put my money where my mouth is again.
