TV Shows I am enjoying …and Movies

Bringing this thread back to life! I heard of a show on Prime that is written, produced, and directed by, and stars, Alan Tudyck - it's called Con Man and It stars Alan as a TV star who got stereotyped after playing a character in a sci-fi show along with Nathan Fillion. Sound familiar? The show within the show is a thinly disguised "Firefly" and pretty much every actor from the Firefly crew shows up in vaious episodes. I binged the first season and a few episodes into the second season yesterday and I enjoyed it - some good laughs.
If you like Alan Tudyk, also check out Resident Alien. He plays an alien who crash landed on earth and took over the persona of a human doctor he killed. He tries to blend in and learn human customs. Highly entertaining!

I have gone back to season one of NCIS. Enjoying it and amazed how much I forgot. It is like a whole new show in most ways. Ducky was so much younger. :rose
I only know it’s a rerun by the original air date.

This is in spanish?

My one nit about, perhaps about Netflix specifically, when it comes to dubs and subtitles is that they don't match.

I routinely watch with the closed caption on, and the show it dubbed. And they're not even close. Basically two completely different translators did the work. It's annoying to watch (so I don't), and seems sloppy to me.

not what I watched

Finally watching Senna.

Feeling it.

Finished Black Doves last night. Great action series for the holidays!

Also watched The Madness recently. Really good but painfully topical to our times.

I've started Madness. First episode was good.

Working through Diplomat as well.

Enjoying Cross on Prime. Really like the lead actor.

And keeping my tin hat shiny with Alien Investigations and Ancient Apocalypse.

Very different from what y'all seem to like here, but we binged the first season of Sherwood last week. We both really enjoyed it. I found myself thinking about it rather often in the days that followed.

Netflix is very hit or miss with subtitles. Most the shows/movies I watch are pretty good but some are really bad. Seems to correlate with higher budget limits. Not really high budgets but some of the hidden gems on Netflix that are lower budgets, usually forum shows that need the dubs or subtitles can be hard to watch because aren't talking with the audio, no pun intended.

The amount of paraphrasing I've seen in subtitles lately is too damn high

_Time Team_ with Tony Robinson - that Baldrick guy from Black Adder.
They go all around the UK doing archeological digs in peoples back yard.
Zillions of episodes.
Also Tony did _Britain's Ancient Tracks_ - a walking the old roads thing.

Gangs of London is INSANE!!!!!!! I'm also watching, with my Wife, The Lioness. It is a bad ass military series with very strong female characters. Oh, and I'm also watching Cross.

MISSING YOU on Netflix, 5 part series. Very good, it will keep you guessing! Binge worthy, although I did watch it over two night 'cause I didn't start it until 9PM last night.

Mare of Eastown is excellent on HBO/ Max. Takes place a few miles from our PA location too. Highly recommended.

That show was great! The look of the town depressed the hell out of me, just the way it was dreary and cluttered, which was on purpose I suppose. I'm so Glad my folks escaped PA for CA when I was 1y/o! But the show was really well done and had TONS of twists and turns. Great show.

Yeah, the smaller towns around there look like that. The writer/ creator is our business insurance agent's son. Neat connection, really.

Been enjoying Guy Pearce as Jack Irish on Acorn tv. Somewhat humorous criminal investigations.
