Vegan riding gear

sounds painfully familiar.

I know you just did it again:rolleyes
the first person here to throw stones was a so called vegan teling people how stupid they were, go back and read it:thumbup

I'm not digging up anything specific. I just dont understand why people attack and make fun of others who live a different lifestyle when they themselves live a different life style by riding a bike. Isn't that why this website exists in the first place? For people who ride a bike to relate and get along with others who share the same lifestyle? To share and help each other? I'm vegan and I don't preach nor care if other people are vegan. So if you aren't vegan why do you need to preach and make fun of those who are vegan and trying to help each other here? Let's leave the vegan "statistics" for another forum and lets talk about gear here. VEGAN gear :cool

read the above, the first attack was a so called vegan attacking people in this thread while they were having a pretty good self moderated discussion with out putting each other down:wow

This suit is made out of 100% Nigerian red soil grown hemp. The suit has an abrasion resistance ten times stronger than farm raised kangaroo hide. The suit also comes with pockets for removable CE armor, and expansion panels for a back protector. All impact areas are triple stitched with hand spun Turkish carbon fiber thread. The suit pictured is from the (Save Mono Lake) series. You can also find a similar suit in the ( keep Tahoe Blue) series, but it has Swedish nylon side panels. Both suits are manufactured and distributed by the Grow And Yield group U.S.A.
Does it have a secret pocket for your uhh hemp too

and again. you seem very defensive and hostile over your flesh eating and skin wearing. just do what you do and be happy about it, and hush up! you are not in violation of any law.

after all, its not like anyone in this thread has even brought up the fact that you prefer a "closer" and more intimate relationship with your particular CAFO raised animal. you might want to check the local statutes on this one.

Oh really?!

Self moderated discussion? HAHAHAHA! I think your replies are just that. VERY self moderated, modified AND confused with selective inclinations. Your arguments are lost in your own laconic discussion that clearly isn't taking place on this post. Obviously you are the one who isn't reading carefully because 75% of this tirade thread is people attacking one another. In addition I didn't "throw the first stone" (or any stone for that matter) unless you choose to ignore the first 6 pages of troglodyte like behavior which consisted of almost no information that could be deemed as consistent or valuable towards the ORIGINAL topic at hand. I realize by responding in the first place to your tired and irrational replies that I am merely feeding the argumentative beast, but see my bike is in the shop and so I reply while admitting to the fact that I am bored. At least I do so tastefully while adding something that other forum readers can walk away with. So until my bike is fixed you have me right here to teach you how to properly read and respond within a respectable forum.:p

wow you compleatly missed that didnt you, no one myself included acused you of throwing stones, dont flatter yourself cause no one was even talking about you:thumbup

second of all i could care less what people eat, I dont respect a person any less for not eating meat or animal products like i said i could care less and believe it or not have quite a few friends who are both vegitarians and a couple good friends who are vegans and are raising their child that way. now the issue that was raised in this thread that was mearly a question was what about the animal byproducts that are used in glue? seriously I wanted to know how people felt about it. then a vegan or maybe a vegitarian went on about how they wear leather gear and it was ok? the stones i was talking about were thrown by that person, you wernt even a member here when the post was originally made.

go back now and reread it and it might make sense but i doubt you will comprehend it:party

hmm

Well if I did misunderstand what you said then allow me to say I am sorry for the miscommunication on my behalf. It did seem as though you were speaking about me when you quoted what I had said, but no matter. If you are really curious about vegan gear ask me any question. I have a decent amount of info that I could dig up. :deadhorse

Tofu riding suit with rice-cake gloves and seaweed boots?

Sinikalsin, you should try the prune juice- the kind with no cannery rats in it, of course.

Why is it that vegans are humor deficient? Chemical imbalance?

Because vegans relate to animals the same as they relate to people, and to be clear, the same as other people relate to other people.

So if you lived in a society where some people were raised to be killed and eaten, but you, and a few others believed that was really sick and disturbing, but it was the only society there was to live in...wouldn't you be kinda depressed?

They are part of those who wear the weight of the world on their shoulders, and try to effect positive change in the world. Throughout history most forward thinkers have been vilified. It's necessary to weed out the wackos. So the true heroes of human society usually end up being praised after their death, usually a few generations.

Stepping back and looking at it objectively, it's clear that killing and eating animals is wrong at this stage of human culture, at least in the first world. I would not be able to kill and fry a chicken myself. But since Burger King got my back, I still get to eat them. I feel a little bit bad for supporting the industry, but once you get that cheese all melty on there...

Oh Cockadoodle Christ, you're killing me. :laughing This thread could be the funniest thing ever, it's too bad I have to get some work done.

Life is a ferment- eat or be eaten!

Damn, that ^^^ T-bone looks good- filet on one side, New Yawk on the other, mmmmmmmmmm mmmmm good.

Wow! ... but what about plants?
They live, they breathe, they bleed if you cut them (Chlorophyl), and they have children (seeds). Why should they be ruthlessly sacrificed? As I mentioned earlier, plants play a super critical role in the survival of the planet by converting CO2 to O2 when they breathe. Do they not deserve any rights?

We are merciless in our slaughter of plants. Innocent vegetables and fruits raised in prison camps (we call them "farms") where they are soaked in chemicals, raised in captivity, and slaughtered. Their children (seeds) are stipped away from them and hauled to separate prison camps (we call them "nurseries") where they are raised to restart the neverending process of abuse. The children that aren't sent to nursery prison camps are either re-interred at Farm prison camps or worse, some are sent off to be consumed as bar snacks (nuts) or side dishes at mexican restaurants (frijoles).

I cannot stand idly by and watch this senseless slaughter continue. We must stand up and protect those that cannot protect themselves. Plants deserve our protection. They deserve the most basic right to life and survival.

Stand with me to stop the merciless slaughter, Save The Plants!!!

why dont you take a wire brush (on an angle grinder[to simulate road rash])

and TOUCH it to some synth weave "riding jacket"

then do the same for leather...

here the way it works...

cows are raised to be eaten... people will not stop eating cows...

their hide goes to waste...

OR you can buy leather not waste that poor cows hide (think indian [and pray for the cow!!!! :twofinger])

also buy syth and your supporting the big corp behind it....

buy leather and your supporting a hbig corp... and the cowboy... and his family...

and the "hay" guy and his family...

wow - no shortage of ignorant toolboxes here - I almost expected more from the SFO area - but uneducated rednecks are a large block of sportbikers everywhere <sigh> Anyone who cannot see the global benefit of vegetarianism is... I've already used the word "ignorant" and "uneducated" um... probably thinks that the last 7 years have been the best in modern US history :laughing

But hey, dumb folk have been making fun of things they don't understand for decades, don't dare to be different :twofinger

Sidi and Oxtar (what ever they're called now) make vegan boots. Regarding gloves and protective gear (textile aside) - no clue. I'm a vegetarian, buy zero leather with the exception of motorcycle gear. I've a 2 piece suit and a Dianese jacket plus leather gloves. Idealistically I'm not charged @ that, but if I'm going to be potentially sliding across pavement I want all the help I can get.

Wow! You said a mouthful!

You should put a little more thought into things before you type them.

Heres some math for you 5.5 Billions people * 2500 calories a day. Now, subtract all the current calories consumed via animal products and muliple the balance time 5.5 billions again and realize how many more plant calories we need. Plants need more square footage to be grown. And have a far less dense caloric value. Oh crap, now we need more land.

Ever thought that people mock things they do understand?

Read the "skeptical environmentalist" books = good.
