Walking Dead season 5

The armor thing is kind of dumb. It does seem like they could be wearing something to protect themselves better. Even moderately thick leather is going to stop them. The neck area is tough and they seem to go for the base of the neck in a lot of attacks.

Although we *should* be at the point now where the dead are a manageable threat except in vast numbers. In vast numbers armor wont help anyway.

Could be very light plastic shit too. A bit isn't getting through that, especially with lots of decrepit and few year old zombies.

Pistol only is very limiting in terms of range when up against rifles or needing standoff distance for zombies rather than letting them get close before firing to ensure headshots. A lightweight AR with a sling still leaves you pretty maneuverable. Yes, you want to travel light, but 210 rounds of 5.56 doesn't weigh THAT much when you don't have to worry about the 50-ish lbs of body armor that typically go with it.

As for the anti-bite armor, it still gets taxing to wear day in and day out for hours on end and definitely would hamper movement more than just a weapon and more ammo slung. While useful, I think I'd worry more about just having a couple lightweight but strong plastic sleeves I could strap on when needed than a full body suit rig. Balaclava + goggles for face protection. All easily able to be stuffed in a small backpack next to other supplies and whatever I needed to scavenge.

At the end of the day that's still all for just surviving - not rebuilding. You DO need a more semi-permanent solution to rebuild, which will involve walls, structures, etc.

I'd agree, a little M4 could serve well. But I think it would be more useful against humans, in terms of range.

I think the best option when encountering walkers, is to keep moving. If you're caught somewhere, then start blasting and a pistol is good enough at 15 yards.

But, again, this show is not about being reasonable or well thought out. It's just entertaining and leads to fun conversations, like this.

Give me a 10" SBR piston driven AR15 with a good sturdy buttstock and a 4x ACOG, G19 9mm for a sidearm, 210 rds of 5.56, 75 rounds (5 mags) of 9mm, and a good mace. No sword for me, blunt object will work just as well without being a risk to other humans as far as nicks and cuts and infection. Blunt crushes zombies but only bruises humans in the case of an overswing. Also easier to clean, don't need to worry about sharpening, can beat down doors and such without worrying about dulling the blade. Generally sturdier and can use as a lever too.

Loadout: SBR can be carried with receivers split in a backpack. Glock on the hip, mace in hand with a wrist loop / belt loop holster when I want both hands. Simple and easy.

any current leather biker jacket would be just fine to fend off the initial bite of a single walker. even getting bit by more than one at once would be ok. you just gotta be able to get them off of you before they find flesh!

hell, even most, if not all, of the current crop of mesh jackets would do.

me, personally. i would go with my current mesh jacket/leather vest combo and throw in my icon leather riding pants and i'd be set:thumbup the pants are overly long and would not leave my ankles exposed. no ankles biters gettin me:laughing

:laughing wrong! i don't give a rats ass what you wear when out there slaying walkers:p

I'll just reiterate what an awesome Romero/Savini tribute this last episode was. *****

Atlanta heat? Textile gear all the way.

I think I'd go a pistol with as large of a capacity as I could find, chambered in 9mm and a hatchet.

Anything too long becomes difficult to wield in close quarters and it will be slow. Not to mention you have to carry it when running, climbing and whatever else. I'd want all my weapons to be holster-able.

Based on the rules you would likely uae a .22 or pellet gun. Works all the same since their skin and skull are so fragile and soft. Just need a headshot.

I was actually thinking about that.

There's a pistol, I think made by Ruger, that holds 30 rounds of .22 LR. If not for Humans being major concern, I'd think it would be perfect.

But being that humans really are the biggest threat in the WD world, 9 is a good compromise between capacity and power.

Correction, it's a Kel-Tec and it's a .22 Magnum;

BARF brigade with their leathers running into the pitch of battle between man and zombies.

Apocalypse would be over in a week.

Seriously though, one of the biggest things in any zombie crisis movie is the suspension of disbelief that nobody's ever heard of zombies before. If any kind of epidemic actually did happen any given neighborhood in the US would have at least a 50% survival rate I think. If not more.

wait, wut? I got shit to do when I get home tonight. won't get to it til maybe Monday afternoon...:(
