Western Addition wheelie gang

Is all speeding criminal in nature?

I witnessed a crime taking place, I feel comfortable calling them "criminals". I didn't say "professional" obviously, you don't make money this way.

I feel comfortable judging from the safety of my home they were blowing past unsafely. Kids ride their bicycles there.

Are you trying to shame us for our horrible judgement calls? lol

I don't know what defines "criminal". It seemed like your definition was "breaking the law" = "criminal", so I went with that. It'd be pretty convenient if you speeding isn't criminal and therefore "OK", but a someone in a group you don't think you'd associate with (despite your shared interest in motorcycling) riding without a license plate is criminal, and should be stopped with piano wire.

I'm all for finding ways to prevent this from happening. It's dangerous and terrible for public perception of motorcycling. But... millennials, techies, extreme solutions??? WTF is this place?

You quoted my statements when using examples of vitriol. I have never supported any violent means of taking them down. Perhaps quote that person next time?

speeding is different :x

Speeding is different.

Speeding is an infraction. No jail time. What they're doing (reckless driving, exhibition, aiding and abiding the aforementioned) the law allows jail time.

In the fog of time, I DO forget details like that, so...Thank You for clarifying those facts :hail

To be honest though, I was being a little facetious.... in reality the speeding and reckless driving BOTH put innocent bystanders at risk :(

vit·ri·ol
ˈvitrēəl,ˈvitrēˌôl
noun
noun: vitriol
1.
cruel and bitter criticism.
"her mother's sudden gush of fury and vitriol"

I honestly feel if they all disappeared society wouldn't even notice. Well maybe their families.

vitriol.

Also, list above is BS #1 is always: stunnas n squids

revisions to "the list" are accomplished by sending request via pm to enchanter, and must be at least 2 pages of single spaced type with 4x normal punctuation ;)

The millennial in me says that is way too onerous - can't you just do it for me?

The techie in me sees an opportunity to increase gentrification by disrupting the process via automation.

The BARFer in me says to cut their heads off with piano wire because "society" wouldn't miss stuntas and squids anyways.

The motorcyclist in me is reminded why it's best to ride alone.

:mad dammit... a new list !!

:laughing

LOL, interesting but pure fantasy. At least in SF. Trust me, it is a completely different world from what you are talking about. Oddly these sort of issues are rarely an issue for the City unless you live in the WD. Kids have been doing burnouts, donuts and wheelies etc. with cars, bikes etc. all the way back to the early 90s.

None of what you listed will stop it but one thing has and does. Techie gentrification. As more and more kids show up with fat credit cards, moving into these neighborhoods, they price all of us mere mortals out to the burbs. Social change is like a force of nature.

That is why I said in other parts of the country.

Culling the herd always works, its a self imposed means of population control, they end up killing themselves. Its a proven way to reduce idiots.

Many of us did crazy things when young. Nowadays it isn't the kids doing it, its the live with mom and dad 25-35 year olds.

Nature will take care of them, agreement there.

Two kinds of criminals:

Those caught
Those yet to be caught

There is no legal title of criminal but there is one for "felon"

If one engages in criminal behavior they are a criminal. Like "law abiding" no court needs to declare it.

I swear to God I thought that in order to "be a criminal" you had to be tried and sentenced. Trump already changed that? Son of a gun!

Nope, you sure don't, those are called "convicted criminals".

Exactly, which is why a criminal can be a person who has never even been suspected of a crime. If that tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, it still makes a noise.

Its " convicted felon ".

Being a criminal is a type of behavior, once convicted you become a felon. They were engaging in criminal behavior.

It takes a court to declare someone a felon. A person can be a criminal without being caught and tried. Being criminal.is a matter of opinion, being a felon is the result of a trial.

A person who steals your motorcycle is a criminal among other things. If caught and tried and found guilty, they become a felon.

Doesn't conflict with anything I said, but...cool.
