Where is Nuetral?!?

skater1on1 said:
hey sorry guys. i know what all you mean and i totally understand. now i want you to know this i am not your typical teenager. I have had a few years experiance before with fast vehicles. Before i got this scooter i had a CRX SI-R turbocharged that put out 245 hp approx to the wheels. now that may not sound like a lot but keep in mind that the car did not weigh more then 2100 lbs. I had this car for 3 years and I only got one speeding ticket (and a questionable ticket at that) I was never in a accident or anything....Because i knew to keep speed on the track. now also many of you are saying that getting a bike and not knowing where nuetral is, is a very stupid thing. The only reason i asked where nuetral is, was so I would be able to start the bike and not have to hold the clutch in. Many of you think i will be riding this bike on the street a week after I get it. I can assure you, that you will not see me on the GSXR until I have logged many hours practicing in the parking lot and taking the basic course. Oh and by the way I didn't mean any offense by the "stfu" thank you everyone for all your advice and please don't assume that I am not listening to all your advice. Thank you. PS please don't let this turn into a newb-flaming thread as I started this thread asking for advice not to be riduculed. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you Oh and by the way Bill Swim i did not intend that "STFU" for you, it was meant for some one on the previous page, sorry about the confusion and props on a humorous joke.

How do we say... CRX is FWD and on four wheels? Bikes are RWD and on two? :laughing :laughing :laughing

I know this isn't something you should probably joke around about but since many of you intend on seeing me crash n' burn I offer this proposal to you:

ATTN. ALL PAST POSTERS OF THIS THREAD

If I crash within 1 month of getting my bike then everyone who has responded to this thread before this post was made will recieve 5 bux. Thats right 5 big ones. But if I can go 6 months without crashing then all I ask from you guys is respect (sounds like straight outta Fast and the Furious lol:laughing ) if thats Cool just make a post saying "I am in."

Hey SILENCE how do you say a CRX capable of beating a Z06 in the quarter mile?:x

And to everyone else thanks so much, seriously, for watching out for me. I am now considering other options instead of a GSXR. also your horror stories and tales of wisdom have had a great deal of influence of impact on me. I look forward to getting a motorcycle and proving that not all 17 year olds are as testoterone driven as you think they are. Thank you very much I have considered and reconsidered getting the GSXR many times now.:D

12.2 in quarter mile... no joke I had LSD and slix on but still

I guess you never checked my profile. Look at the age field. I'm 18. So all that crap about steriotypes about age... hey I'm that age, and I'll tell you that there is a reason for them. I've lived though some of them. I raced in my car, almost totalled it, but FWD saved my ass. The other guy, in a RWD over corrected, slammed on the breaks, regained traction and went into on coming traffic, getting t-boned. Luckly it was his passenger side that got hit, or he'd probably be dead. That lession learned, I no longer race, and put all that squid crap behind me, and thank god I learned the easier way.

As stated befre, fwd is much more learner friendly than RWD. If you loose traction in FWD to regain it you get off the gas (instinct due to the "pucker factor"), and you drive away happy, but a little scared, hopefully a little wiser. In RWD you loose controll, you stay on the gas or you will end up in a wall, off a cliff, into oncoming traffic. That is not instinct, that is what experiance gives you.

Race replicas do not have abs, no traction controll, and SUPER powerful breaks (front and rear), when that pucker factor kicks in (which I gaurentee it adventuly will), you're going to want as much experiance as possible when you are dealing with it, because instinct (assuming you're not experianced) is not what will keep the shiney side up.

OK first of all perhaps I did not make myself clear. I never said that because I drove a fast car I now think i can drive a bike. I simply said that if i can show restraint in a extremely fast car (such as my CRX) then I am much different from other 17 year olds out there who would have totaled it by now. Also you assuming that I won't be able to control myself and "keep it in the parking lot" is a huge prejudice against 17 yearolds (most of which I agree with) however I do not feel that you have the ability to judge whether or not I will be able to keep it "in the parking lot" as you do not know me personally. Also you mentioned getting a beater bike and then getting a GSXR, i would like to bring it to your attention that I have been riding a SR 50 for 6 months now. That doesn't mean I know the first thing about riding a full size motorcycle, but reading constantly about riding techiniques and logging many hours on my SR would make me better suited for getting a GSXR then any other 17-20 year old. Also you make it sound as if I am getting a brand new bike which is not the case, I am getting a 1999 GSXR, although not an archaic bike, it is certainly better suited to learn on then a brand new bike. I am not saying that all 17 year olds should run out and buy GSXR's, I am just saying that instead of immediatley flaming me for considering getting one is wrong. Instead you should do it on a person-to-person basis. I know many 30 year olds who should never even be allowed with in 10 feet of a sportbike. In conclusion I beg of you this, do not judge me because of my age, instead help me make wise decisions in purchasing and beginning my learning on a sportbike. thanks

You didn't get the point... silly little ricer boys in silly little FWD Hondas get no kudo points for not crashing. Especially when all they do is race in a straight line. Now if you were telling me that you were running 9 every night in your AW11 and keeping up with the FD's for the past four years and haven't crashed yet, that would be a different story.

Dude I seem to be missing your point. First of all I had no traction control, ABS. But I don't think that is your point. What makes you think you are more qualified to ride a bike then me. You drove front wheel so did I. I have also driven many other RWD drive cars so I do have more then a slight instinct about what do with RWD. You said you did street racing and almost got your buddy killed WTF why am I the one getting flamed out for getting a bike? I never once raced in traffic.

HAHA wtf silly little ricer boy?!?!? me?? no i love racing but I knew to keep it on the track. I am sorry the last time i checked auto x didn't consist of going in a straight line.

Oh by the sorry for the mispell I am just a little heated from all this flaming.

Ladys and gentlemen, I introtuce to you... Fr0ng Jr.

I'll state it again. Motorcycles arn't cars. All your experiance in cars is bullshit. Don't hype yourself up because you drove a car that you can ride a bike.

I'd also like to point out that I never said I was more qualified to ride a bike than you were. All I've ever said was that it may be wiser to get a more learner friendly bike.

dude your not listening I do not believe that because I drove a fast car that makes me a better bike rider. All i am saying that i would be better suited for a bike then most other 17 year olds out there simply because of the restraint i have shown while I owned my car

who ever said anything about me not being broke.....17 year old = no money ....also if you knew anything about cars you would know that the CRX is a very lightweight car with many options, with a very short wheelbase and low center of gravity, it makes an ideal autocross car and swapping engines is a breeze and more affordable then many american and japanese cars

skater, don't shoot yourself in the foot on this board by drawing analogies between your car driving and scooter riding experience.... once you actually *ride* a motorcycle, you'll find it takes far more skills than either, with very little margin for error. you're hypothesizing about something that you currently have ZERO experience with, it doesn't help your case here.

i've been driving for 11 years with zero points and full coverage insurance on my bike is $400 a YEAR... have you tried finding out how much it costs to insure a gixxer as a 17yo male? probably as much as the bike itself.

and YES, i have ridden a scooter!!! :laughing

CRX = Civic with stuff missing hahaha Okay, understandable choice if you're broke... Didn't realize people could purchase gixxers without money these days you know?

nice scooters are awesome LOL again please listen to me I never said that since i have experiance with a car that i will be good at bike....

I SAID:
Since I expressed control and maturity behind the wheel of a very fast car that I have a slight advantage over other new bike buyers.

I DID NOT SAY:
I drove a fast car therefore I can drive a bike.

yea my parents are helping me out you know. Hey even I wasn't broke I still might have gone with the CRX as they are great all around cars small n' shitty yes, but still fast and handling like a Porsche

yes, i suppose you are better off than the 17yo who already has 2 speeding tickets. i don't know what kinda crx you're talking about that's so fast, i used to have a turbo rx-7 in high school, now *that* was a cool car!! guess it helps to have a family in the auto business. i've driven all manner of sporty cars, but settled on pretty ordinary comfy ones, once you ride a bike anything else will seem slow anyway.

but do check out the cost of insurance, cuz if u get pulled over and u don't have coverage, it's the same as a car, you will be fined up the a$$.

oh yea I asked my insurance provider and she said 800/year
wow you had a RX-7 in highschool? that is my DREAM car.... trust me CRX's are pretty quik with the right mods
